PHX and Denver are both within 500k of getting out from the luxury tax and Minn and LAC are both 4-5M from it. I think they will do more deals. All are WC teams and all want to win now. That makes is more complicated for us.

We could have helped Orlando get out, but they got a better deal by dumping Tyus Jones.

The only players that got moved I would have liked to have taken a flier on are Ousmane Dieng and Taylor Hendricks. Also would take SloMo from Memphis. Memphis could trade us SloMo for Sochan and save 2M or trade us Taylor Hendricks and get off next year's salary, but I dont think the Spurs want to take on next year's salary.

I do think we might just offer Sochan a buyout and then use his spot to sign Khris Middleton when the Mavs buy him out. I would have loved to try to get Royce ONeale or Sam Hauser, but both those teams are trying to win and the Spurs might not want to take on their guaranteed salary.

But of all the players traded, not getting in to get Dieng, Hendricks, or SloMo doesn't really hurt us.

Hopefully we land something today

I think this signals that Milwaukee rejected all offers for Giannis. Golden State and Minnesota have both moved on. So maybe that means the only place Giannis might go is Miami, but more likely he will be an off season trade



Lol what a disaster Dilly was for them. Kept them from having picks to trade for Giannis and use 4 seconds to dump him

Windy says the spurs are not active at this deadline. I get it. We have a pretty full team. Even if we make a trade on the fringes, I don't see how they get playing time. We do need to move on from Barnes soon though.

We need to get more 1st round swaps from them bums. Complete and total mismanagement.

1st and a swap for Dillingham, then used 4 seconds to get Ayo and 1 second to dump Conley after they bid against themselves to pay him 10M/year when he was clearly washed. And let NAW walk.

OKC traded for Plumlee and Jared McCain and only traded out draft picks and Dieng. They have to cut someone b/c they have 16 on the roster now.

Looking at trades for contenders:


1. OKC: lose Dieng, gain Plumdog and McCain. I don't think either gets any minutes.
2. Spurs. -_-
3. Nuggets: Salary dumped Hunter Tyson
4. Rockets. No moves.
5. Wolves: add Ayo Dosmunmu; lose Conley, Dillingham, Leonard Miller. May sign Conley in buyout market.
6. Lakers: Add Luke Kennard, lose Gabe Vincent. Upgrades shooting, downgrades defense.
7. Suns: Salary dumps
8. Warriors: Add Kristaps for TJD, Hield, Kuminga.

Wolves are the only team that got better, but Ayo is Trae Young on defense. Lakers are 7th on offense and 24th on defense and got worse on defense and a better shooter added to their Aryan army.

1. Detroit added Kevin Heurter. Cool.
2. NYK added Alvarado for Yabusele, cash and two seconds.
3. Boston added Vooch for Simons and cut their end of bench guys to get under tax.
4. Cavs added Harden, Schroeder, Keon Ellis for Lonzo Ball, Hunter, and Garland. Win, but they got a lot smaller, too. I'm sweating a James Harden team in the Finals.
5. 76ers - Salary dumped Jared McCain and Eric Gordon.
6. Raptors - Chris Paul and TJD for Agbjai
7. Heat. No moves.
8. Magic - Salary dumped Tyus Jones.

So of the top 16 teams in the league, really only the Wolves, Cavs, and Knicks did anything notable that could help their team this year. Not a single player moved on that list is someone I feel bad about missing out on to add to our rotation this year.

Was hoping the Spurs would try to add another Vet that can hit some shots
They have the talent to make the playoffs and depending on matchups, make some noise
But overall, doubt they make it past the 2nd round
Would also really like to see more Harper when he's back out there

Cap space next summer. Hawks instead of clearing their books, only have cap space if they decline the team option on the best player they traded for.

I think this team makes no sense. No real PG on the team. PGBC with NAW, Dyson, McCollum. No rim protection. Multiple players un the sub 10th percentile defensively.

Buyout candidates:

Nurkic from Utah. Would love this. Big, dumb mean animal. They need to sit him for the tank.

Khris Middleton. Cut Sochan for him immediately, even if his ankles are glass.

Georges Niang. Fat boy can shoot. Bad defense, but he would be taking minutes from Barnes so...

Kevin Love. Can't defend but still rebounds and hits some shots. 35%.

SloMo.

Haywood Highsmith. Coming back from torn meniscus.

Only starter in the negative. Can't wait to fast forward to the development of the castle-Harper duo. Fox might be the most frustrating player to watch.
