Rangers are in the playoffs as the #6 AL team if the season ended right now. We would be between the Nationals and the Marlins if we were in the NL. The AL is just ass this year.

Plus they have the 3rd best run diff in the AL. They are frustrating in many ways, but we will be watching baseball that counts deep into the summer.

Was browsing some of the numbers for Rangers minor leaguers and noticed Dylan Dreiling is hitting .306 with a .423 obp and Malcolm Moore is hitting .333 with a .420 obp.
Moore's last 8 games have been insane. He's gotten multiple hits in every game with 5 home runs and 4ks. He's hitting over .500 the last 10 games.
Both have kind of looked like busts the last 2 years but hopefully they are turning it around.

Not sure why people have been so quick to turn on Moore. Missed a very large part of last season with a busted finger off a foul tip. This season is really the first good look at him.
Probably because he was a 1st round pick. He's a catcher, but his reputation is that he's not very good defensively…so his perceived best asset is his bat - and up til now, he hasn't hit well at all. Last year was his 2nd season as a pro, he played some after he was drafted in '24 at Hickory. He hit .209 in '24, and last season he hit .195 in 263 ABs. That doesn't inspire confidence.
That said, I'm glad to see he's hitting well, hopefully he keeps it up. He's only in high A ball, the real jump is when he gets to AA, that's when we'll have a clearer picture of what he is offensively.

Get Leiter a lead and he proceeds to get right back into a major jam.

Higgy hits a shot to the corner with 2 outs and can't even get to 2nd... this team just doesn't seem to play with any kind of fire or edge.

Yeah, was about to be critical of Burger but he played that as best he could.
It did look like he assumed the 2B would catch it, and he took a hop back towards first at the last moment. But not going to be overly critical of that when it would be far worse to get doubled up there.
Pederson gets us going and we have a lead.

I'd like to personally thank the Colorado Rockies organization for a 9th inning catcher's interference and a pass ball with the bases loaded to allow us to win the game when we did not want to win.

I almost turned it off after the top of the 9th just to preserve the win in my mind. If we lost in the 9th, I would think we won. It's that kind of season for me.

That guy may be looking for a job soon. He pretty much single handedly gifted that win to the Rangers.

Can Foscue actually finally stick as a legit major league hitter? He has consistently hit well in the minors, but the last two years in MLB for him have been brutal. Looks a lot different this year. If he can continue to hit, and Langford and Seager come back and get going, this lineup starts looking better. Duran has been a nice surprise. He has always had some ability. Just needs to show some consistency.
They interviewed him after one of the games recently and he said he was more comfortable. Mentioned being more comfortable at the plate, in the field, and in the clubhouse. Being more relaxed around the guys, etc.
Hopefully it's a case of him getting out of his own way mentally and playing ball.
We'll see.

Colorado may be a suiter for Foscue after this series come July.

That's an exaggeration ("consistently hit well in the minors"). He's been an OK hitter (career .273 average in 6 seasons). His highest avg was .288 in '22 and '24, but that was sandwiched around .266 in '23 and .261 last year.
I'm still not confident he'll hit well long term. I'm sticking with my Willie Garcia comp, and I'm a bit worried this is fool's gold we're seeing. Hope I'm wrong, and if nothing else he should stick around while he's hitting well. JMO
