Cody Freeman just started his rehab stint, I'm guessing McCutchen will be the casualty when Freeman is called up.

Interesting how we have not one but two catchers that don't know the strike zone well enough for ABS.
It's just complete mismanagement of the lineup to end up with Higgy and Jansen batting back to back in that spot.
He could have let the first pitch hit him too. Both Higgy and Burger got out of the way of a hit by pitch that would have tied the game
Had the bases loaded 3 times and couldn't get a hit. I finally turned it off.
This team may not be good for a long time. I can't believe we won a WS just 3 years ago with a roster that looked like a dynasty in the making.

Huh?
We didn't win the division, didn't even clinch the playoffs until the last week of the season, and got career years out of 3-4 different guys.
No one thought that was a team likely to repeat, much less a dynasty in the making.
It's gonna be a long summer until football season.

High-A Hub City C Malcolm Moore was named the South Atlantic League Player of the Week for May 11-17. That included part of an eight-game stretch in which he had multiple hits every night (.541/.575/1.135 [1.710 OPS]) and homered five times (including four straight games at one point), with only four strikeouts in 40 plate appearances. Moore is up to .315/.406/.581 (.986 OPS) for the season and has thrown out one-third of would-be basestealers.

We didn't win the division because the bullpen blew like 30 games in the regular season. If we had the same bullpen we got in the playoffs, we would have cruised to the playoffs.
After winning the World Series, I 100% thought we'd have a big open window like the Astros did. It's pretty crazy how almost every player had a career year and has declined since

The Astros had a big open window because they had legitimate young top draft picks on cheap early contracts.
Thinking your Carlos Correas, Alex Bregmans and Kyle Tuckers are going to continue to rake isn't all that out of the ordinary.
The makeup of the 2023 Rangers was completely different.
Hoping your Nate Lowes, Adolis Garcias, Mitch Garvers and Jonah Heims were just all diamonds in the rough was just wishful thinking.
Glad that we got 2023, and that we've positioned ourselves to be competitive until the next opportunity presents itself -- but I'm happy in knowing that 2023 required an unreal amount of production to fall our way. That roster by all accounts should not have won a title. That makes it a bit sweeter.
It also helped that the Diamondbacks had some upsets to get themselves to the World Series so we weren't facing the Phillies.
