I may be in the minority but I loved Turgeon's style here. We were the best press break team in college basketball. The only thing I didn't like was a bit less grit on defense compared to BCG but our offense was light years more polished.

That being said, he wasn't happy with fan support here (not any better now) and while it was a long time ago he left us a bit high and dry (really Williams' fault for leaving Maryland so late, but still...).

I don't think he is. He was inducted into the Kansas basketball HOF last year and didn't make any comments about returning to coaching

If I'm our AD I'd have done some asking around of retired coaches and people I trust on how good they think Steve Forbes is. Hasn't been super impressive at Wake but I wonder if that job is a lot harder than it used to be.

Forbes has AK on his staff

A Lot of people on here clearly don't remember the Dumpster Fire that Aggie basketball was for Decades.

The school has made 17 Tournament appearances in its history. We've never been relevant in mens basketball. We have never been a "basketball" school. We are a "Football" school, that doesn't even Consistently win at that either!

We are finally somewhat relevant again, and we think we're going to be able to find a better coach than Buzz? Buzz Williams basketball, and making the NCAA tournament Consistently may be the best we ever have/get.

In case anyone hasn't noticed, we haven't won a National Title in Football in 86 years. When is the last time we were "In the Hunt" in football?

When talking about BCG, the more time has gone by the more it seems like the staff of Forbes, Williams, Brooks in the first two season were an all-star staff completely unlike any he put together afterward.

Well nothing is ever done until you do it.

My current take is that if Buzz stays then great, I like him fine and think he can still make us even better if he changes some things, but I also don't think we're immediately headed back to the dark ages if he leaves.

We can do better? There is Literally NO Track record that shows we can. There is NO history that shows we can Consistently do what we have Never done.


I mean, football fans here used to kiss when we got a first down. To act like there's no hope and we will suck forever is such a candy ass loser mentality.

Don't get me wrong it fits with a lot of the Brazos valley mentality of just be happy we have sports teams and nice guys coaching and playing, but my gosh have a little faith.

I agree. I like Buzz. I belive in him. I understand how difficult it is to win, and appreciate what he has done for our program. A lot of coaches have come and gone while he's been here. He needs to find a way to get his players better at shooting, and being creative on offense.

Family fit and being comfortable is big wirth Coach Williams (as it should be), and DC area just seems so opposite and un Buzz like. Just post season noise.

Our players get worse shooting when they come here. And we shoot worst at home. We've got six years of data. Buzz doesn't care about offense. Hell he's built his whole system around going and getting bricks for out packs to try and score.

I'm ok regardless. But if he leaves, next coach is going to probably start with a completely blank roster so that will be a big challenge. Hopefully a new coach has some decent players he can bring.

Forbes had more than enough talent to get to the tournament this year and couldn't do it. I'm skeptical of him. His teams have wilted down the stretch multiple years and have been horrific offensively.

It's not a "candy assistant loser mentality", it's Our Reality.

A&M has Not won National Championships in our Lifetime. I'm not ok with this.

Buzz has the opportunity for his 4th straight NCAA tournament appearance next year. In the History of Aggie Basketball, only 1 other guy has done this. I'm just saying I'm not ready to jump off the Buzz bandwagon.

I don't see how Maryland is a better situation for Buzz. Perhaps a couple of months ago the impression was that Maryland Athletics was overall stable... But 2 weeks ago the AD left to become the AD at SMU... There is no AD... Additionally, Kevin Willard has aired all the issues related to get approval for simple things like staying an extra night in a location.

Also, Maryland offer to Kevin Willard, was to put him on $5M ... Before that was at 4.2M... So this is sort of a desperate move.

I think Buzz will definitely use the noise/rumors he got this season to push for certain things (e.g. , increase asst coaches salaries).

Yeah. I'm curious what can Payne become. I'm curious to see Mills. I'm curious to see Turkson. I'm curious to see Ratowski. And a couple of the freshman
