When Marshall and Lily were having their fight last night, I paused it and turned to my wife (who doesn't regularly watch the show) and told her, "If this show believed in karma, Marshall would unload on her for being selfish and ruining his dreams and blah-blah-blah."

Then I unpaused it and Marshall did just that.

Good job Marshmallow.

Loved marshal going off on lily. She truly deserved it. She's been self absorbed and selfish the entire show and always out marshal second to her needs. This was a career making move for marshal versus a year of buying art in Rome for lily. No brainer.

Am I the only one who wondered if Barney was faking drunk to mess with Ted and Robin?

Really just a great episode and hilarious to see things like how "the naked man" got his two out of three line.

It was entertaining to see how quirky the mother is and how that will fit in with Ted.

There were a lot of things in this episode that have been missing this season such as the references and continuity. Great episode. Hope the writers finish out strong.

Easily the best episode in a long while. Wow. They completely made me fall in love with the mother. A few very emotional scenes that she just knocked out of the park. If you weren't a little misty eyed at her singing then you are a little dead inside.

Great tie ins and cliffnotes of her journey. I was not expecting the dead boyfriend thing and that set the tone for a great episode.

Oh, and thumbs up to the chesty redhead. She needs a sitcom role STAT!

I'm curious about her turning down Louis. She takes a moment and goes outside to talk to her dead ex. The wind blows and she takes that as a good sign. She says a final goodbye and then goes inside and tells Louis no? I didn't understand what changed between outside and inside.

I don't think anything changed. she asked if she could move on. we saw earlier it want really clicking with him. I think she was staying with him because it was comfortable and she didn't really want to "buy lottery tickets" as she out it.

Not the same girl, but did look similar. She was hot.


Great episode, the mother does seem like a really awesome, cool chick. Here's to hoping she actually is a serial killer and takes out Lily.

If you showed him my room with calligraphy pens and renaissance corset he would have run away (well the corset is kind of cool)

Anybody else wonder if last night's episode lent some more weight to the idea that the mother has already passed away when he's talking to the kids? Noticed he said "I must have heard your mother's rendition of La Vie en Rose a thousand times over the years..."

Best part was when she saw him in the classroom. Also love how she is as quirky as ted. Makes teds wait all worth it. Also loved the front desk guy setting her up in that room. His expression showed he was doing that intentionally because he has been sympathetic to ted all weekend.
