At this point, I think the writers are trolling us with the reaction Robyn had.

We know they don't get together, they know we know it..so they might as well pretend to go down that path again..

I agree that's what they are doing, but that's lazy and terrible writing... It's true, we all know it isn't going to happen, so why even bring it up? I thought that crap was finally over with that gay balloon episode, but apparently not. They could have spent that wasted time incorporating the mom into the episode.

I know we shouldn't expect the best story lines from comedy writers, but you figure they would have this part figured out 9 years in...

I know we all hate Lily, but this seems over the top. They didn't ruin EVERY character. Ted's the same guy he's always been, Robin is slightly more like Barney than in Season 1 (because they've been together for a while now), and Barney is still awesome.

Solid episode. Glad they wrapped up the storylines to some of the lesser characters and interested to see if they solve the pineapple incident.

And I liked the end where you hear where all the secondary characters end up. And now we've seen Ted and the Mother immediately after they met.

Seems they've tied everything up except for the actual moment. I'm guessing the entire last episode will be them meeting/their first date, or something along those lines.

I loved this episode. Wish the rest of the season had more of this kind of stuff. Wrapping up older fun characters and flash forwards to the mother and what not.

It wasn't exciting or whatever, but I liked it a lot better than most of the season. The more mother, the better the episodes have been this season.

That mess about losing touch with people may be some foreshadowing.

yes. And Sandy Rivers is Alyson Hannigan's husband.

I thought it was pretty good. Weird selection of background characters, and I agree it felt forced, but I just enjoy watching Ted with the mother.

Agreed. I didn't really need to know or care much about a lot of those minor character's future.

I'm just so ready for this show to be over. I feel like I'm just putting in my time watching it because I'm pot committed at this point. It's weird to think that after watching this show for so long I'm happy it's finally ending instead of sad. So weird.

I actually enjoyed this episode a lot. Barney busting on Lilly and Marshall, the whole "I'm dumping in here" was priceless and Barney calling their marriage a double wiper.

I was a little put off by the Robin/Ted thing but they played it ok. Barney admitting Ted found it at the end was great.
