We have seen Ted Lily and Marshall all in teh future at the college reunion. We obviously didn't see the mother then, but there wasn't a hint of sadness there...especially when he's talking about whether he hooked up with Lily.
I'm starting to believe she's dead...if she was alive, those kids would have gotten off the couch by now and ask her how they met.
He did ask about where his wife went off to when they were "having a sandwich" at their 20 or 25 year college reunion, in the future. So it would appear that she's alive.
I really hope nobody is dead. This show has always been light hearted and fun! I will be very disappointed if that is how they decide to leave us!

Just binge watched all of season 9 in 2 days. Couple of thoughts:
- The rhyming episode was godawful.
- Lily is selfish, Marshall was right, and the way they ended the fight was kind of lame.
- The mother is cute as hell and has really grown on me. The scene where she sings La Vie En Rose might be one of the best scenes of the whole show.
- Robin floating away... LOL

I enjoyed the last episode and Barney's wedding being the Weekend at Barney's.

The mom told the girl growing up that yogurt was the same thing as ice cream. Eventually, the girl goes to college and someone gives her an actual bowl of ice cream. Girl calls her mom that night and screams "ITS NOT THE SAME THING AT ALL!!!!!"

i thought the funniest line of the show was Ted saying he was wanted to add bacon to his mom's LT sandwiches
I am glad we are seeing more of the mother though.
It would be a huge disappointment if we don't see more and more of her each episode leading up to the finale.
There's really nothing left of the Marshall/Lily story line, and frankly the only thing remaining on the Robyn/Barney story line is for the inevitable "Robyn might still love Ted, but he talks her into marrying Barney" episode which we all know will happen.

Or Lily and her son saying "son of a b" That catch phrase of Lily's always bothered me and I have no idea why it needs to be a spanish/russian accent...

Like when she was in bed wearing the wife beater? Yeah, I could stand seeing a bit more of that...
Not bad for this season. So much better than the rhyming episode or the horrendous slap bet thing. I don't know why but I really laughed at Robin and Barney waking up in the wrong hotel in Argentina.
Good episode overall.
And double aught, I know every episode hasn't been light hearted and fun, but in general that's what the show has been, and if they go the way of tragedy in finale it won't be like Marshall's dad dying because it is what we will be left with to remember the show.

Weird. I feel like the writers have essentially mailed it in all season, counting on people to watch because it's the last season.
Took the step of deleting it from the DVR schedule last night.
Weekend at Barney's had so much potential, but they went away from it, only to come back with a couple of lame photos.

I'm pretty sure it was "son of a me" in regards to it being directed at her son. She has never censored herself with that phrase before.
On a totally unrelated but equally annoying note, after nine seasons, do half of us still not know how to spell Robin's name?

Could be his own mother died before his wedding
I dunno. The comment the Mother made about Ted not living through his stories sounds like she doesn't want him dwelling on her after she's gone.
