Well they've got some terrible damn actors on this show in the small parts.

I just assumed those were real people and not actors. Like the guy on the 6666. That's gotta be a cowboy friend of Sheridans he's giving some air time to.

And can someone give that kid a bath a new clothes?

I think so too, but that's why the acting is horrible for some of them.

Like "Damn Barrel Racer" would have been written better as "Oh *****" when blood started rushing everywhere.

Season is not really capturing my attention.

At least Sheridan isn't sliding horses.

Yeah pretty sure the characters you're referring to aren't actually actors

Haven't seen tonight's episode yet. Are you talking about those really old guys last week or someone new this week?

Someone new this week. Last week was Barry Corbin (I'd piss on a spark plug if I thought it'd do any good) and a real life guy, just can't remember his name.

I figured it was the guy that Jimmy rode off with last week at the end of the episode

No, I know they were trying to give a legend some screen time there. This is different. You'll know it when you see it.

IMO the "true" antagonist is Jamie's dad, it's just a terribly written character and a weak story line. I don't mind the actor, but he's not a very good bad guy.

I thought Debra from Dexter had the worst mouth - but Beth has lapped her at this point.

I completely disagree. I think the best beat down line from Beth in this episode was the exchange about boobs with the hippie girl.

" Actually, God gave me these for free. Looks like he gave me yours, too."

As for complaints about being unrealistic….hate to be the bearer of bad news but if we dealt with as much "non ranch" **** as these guys did, I'd be losing every acre of it as well.

This month I'm doing fences. I'm digging new post holes in limestone. Should average about one post per hour. Eat your heart out Taylor Sheridan.

So far the most realistic part of the show seems to be jimmy at his new digs at the 6666. Long days. Physical agony of riding all day long. Early mornings. Learning **** on the fly until you're good enough.

But that makes for terrible television. I watch the show to escape reality. It's entertaining.

Hope they don't just dismiss without addressing the Teeter/branding thing.

The brand was such a big deal to John that the "hired gun" from last season paid for it with his life.

Yet Teeter just walks -- with back/severance pay when John decides "the gals have gotta go?"

Consistency ... thou art a virtue ... that should not be lost due to poor writing/plot line building.

This show has 14 irons in the fire and we're only seeing about 1.5 of them each episode. Really frustratingly slow development. We get ambiguous 30-second glimpses of what should be the primary storylines, but spend half an episode on a bunkhouse conflict that's been hashed and rehashed 4 times at this point.

Frustrating cause it could be so much better without a lot of effort.

Are they just trying to screw up a good thing? You'd think between Sheridan and Costner this show wouldn't be slipping into total sloppiness.

But, the scenery is great….

I like Beth but would never put her near the top of all time because her schtick used to wear me out so bad.

never letting up from every single thing out of her mouth being some sarcastic, smartass, one liner.

They have relaxed on it some. But man it used to wear me out!
Agreed

I don't outright hate the character. I just know the second she shows up there's going to be:
1. 75 f bombs.
2. A soliloquy.
3. Someone being put in his/her place via #'s 1 and 2.

It just gets a little old at times. I guess it could be worse - "Mopey Monica".

I'm getting a little sick of Beth myself. She's just so damn bitter. Jamie's weakness is just sad, and Monica well, I HATE her.

Did it occur to anyone else that it's a bit unfair to have Walker fight Lloyd when Walker has just been stabbed shortly before? (The timeline is not clear.)

I don't like Beth at all. Tired of her.

I agree that this has not been a very good season.

The scenes of the landscape are my favorite parts.

If they gave him time to heal thats a long time to let that just hang out there "unresolved"
But after the fight it did look like he was bleeding from the spot of the stab wound.

Yep, I thought that was strange about the fight.

Don't like Beth either. Waiting for a woman to show up who Rip had a one night stand with and has a child.

Looked like a couple of times he put his fist or hand on that area when Walker was getting the better of him.

Quite honestly didn't understand the part about John trying to step into the arena to take on the winner and then Rip having to stop him.

Guessing they had to "humble" the winner by beating the tar out of them so the winner wouldn't get a sense of accomplishment out of it all. But didn't understand why John felt compelled to go in there to try it.

John told Rip to have them fight it out and then for Rip to make an example out of whoever was still standing at the end. I guess John wanted to get in there to do it to show that even though he is old, he is still one of them, or something like that.

I think RIP was against it too because John is still sore and not fully healed himself.

I took it as they wanted them to fight until they both were done fighting and had it out of their system. He said "Walker's been done for an hour" but Lloyd was still stubborn and trying to fight so they wanted to beat whatever remaining fight out of him. After they did that and broke his hand then Lloyd helped Walker up.
