I don't get this season finale episode...other than it sets up more seasons to come.

Just completely wasted Kaycee this season. What little he was in it made almost no sense. I have no idea what that vision quest thing was.

What a waste of a finale
Good episode but pretty anticlimactic. Seemed more like a mid season break than a season finale.
Lots of stuff set up for next season:
Governor race
Taking down Main St Capital (maybe using Jamie?)
What did Kayce see in his vision and what is he going to do about it

Jesus, that just felt like another episode of the season. Pure setup for the spin-off imo. One thing remains constant: Jamie is still a piece of ***** Really, the only person to come out on top this season is Jimmy.
There just never seemed to be an arc this season. The most climatic moments were the first 10 minutes of the season.
They had set it up for a Dutton v Jamie and Co, but they ****ed it all up introducing both of the spin-offs, 1883 and 6666. The storyline that made the most progress was Jimmy/6666. Kacey is off ****ing around on some vision quest, the ranch is all bogged down in diversify or die with John getting in on the rodeo game, and the Jamie v Beth is just chipping away at each other.duck79 said:

Yup. This season was just off. It's almost like they didn't expect to film it with Covid and then were caught off guard and said "oh **** we need to put something together"
Keep in mind that they wrapped up filming this season almost a year ago. We all thought it was coming back over the summer but it didn't because of the Olympics.
I enjoyed the finale. The season opened with one of the most insane shootouts ever. Ending with a send-off/love story + a resolution/reset with Jamie and his dad was perfect.
Now we're on for an election, power politics, and probably a mega war next season with Dutton/Natives vs the power brokers

Killing Rourke out of the blue with the rattlesnake seemed very abrupt at the time. It was supposedly because the actor had a conflict and wasn't available. Considering how little Market Equities played into the season, seems like maybe that wasn't necessary.
She decided not to use it when she was in the conjugal room once the prisoner said he just passed along the order, and that Jamie was the one who placed the order. She also felt sorry for him.CrottyKid said:

It showed her taking the sharpened hairpin out of her hair on her drive home.
She then gave Jamie the ultimatum to kill his dad.

The prisoner didn't say Jamie placed the order. He said he told Jamie ("the suit") he only passed along an order.

All ya bleeders can go on and on about this and that, but I thoroughly enjoyed the season and this finale. Loved the character arc that Jimmy is on + spinoff, and the state of the bunkhouse with the reset they got a few episodes ago.
Don't think most are seeing it, but the show is off because Tyler Sheridan is using the show to advertise or make money off advertisements in show. The 6666 spinoff, Metallic Cat, all the "cowboys" he bringing in are the reining pros competing on his $1 million shootout show, etc. Good for him, he's raking it in, but he's trashed the storyline for ads.
Don't think most are seeing it? Lol we all see it. But it was still enjoyable enough.
This season (except for the premiere and a handful of scenes from one or two other episodes) was no bueno. I kept waiting for it to get back on track but instead we got Kayce's Native American hazing experiment, Jamie twisting in the wind, Beth jumping the shark, and a plethora of dancing horses.
The two cringiest eye-rolling moments last night were Beth revealing she kidnapped the priest and Jamie literally on his knees begging for a third option. The writing has made me actively dislike Beth, especially the way she treated the stall boy after he tried to call her "mom".

I thought the way Jimmy was handled in the episode last night and the moment with him and Lloyd was outstanding.
