yeah he re-uses a ton of his actors across his movies to his shows.

Most prominently, Alberto from Hell or High Water is Rainwater in YS

Quite similar to most Happy / Madison produced movies, as well as most TV shows produced by Chuck Lorre.

Ryan Murphy as well. Fairly common now for the biggest show runners.

Did he write Hell or High Water? Didn't realize that, loved that movie.

Nichole Galicia is the Jeremy Renner's secretary in The Mayor of Kingstown. She was also the defense attorney for Summer Higgins in YS and a bar patron in 1883.

Hugh Dillon and James Jordan have way bigger roles in Mayor of Kingston, of course Dillon is a co-creator

Beth is just starting to get insufferable
She's been that way for awhile now in my opinion. Her one liners are all so cringeworthy.
extremely underrated opinion. we watch this show with our neighbors, and the wives think that Beth is God's gift to feminism and empowerment. i think she is just a predictable-one-liner wet sock who needs to be taken to the train station.
not to be that guy but I posted this like a season and a half ago. she wears me out because every single word out of her mouth is some smart ass one liner. No one is that way in real life.

I enjoyed the finale. The season opened with one of the most insane shootouts ever. Ending with a send-off/love story + a resolution/reset with Jamie and his dad was perfect.

Now we're on for an election, power politics, and probably a mega war next season with Dutton/Natives vs the power brokers
I thought it was a crap ending to a garbage season.

John defending the hippie chick was awful. I was pulling for the judge.

and Kasey...WTF.

garbage season

My guess is because the first 3 seasons, despite the occasional plot holes, were fun TV and he (or she) liked the show. Season 4 was a noticeable step down, but no one knew that going in and anyone who loved the first 3 seasons was probably going to watch season 4.

I agree that season 4 was a letdown. Very little happened and what did happen was often odd and out of character. But I still like the show and will watch season 5. And if season 5 continues the downward trend, I'll probably be back here to complain about it. Mainly because the show was so good and I hate to see it fall off like this.

Exactly! The first three seasons were good and I could look past some of the lazy writing because I took it for what it was. But, this season was trash.

Unfortunately, this really is the norm. So many shows started good and just couldn't keep it going. Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, Lost (not that I watched it, but I've read plenty), etc. Very few can be like Breaking Bad and either stay as good or get better and better.

I don't need every show as good as BB, but I want consistency. Most of the time the problems come when they are trying to extend the series but had no where to go. Usually they know how they want to end it, but it's the filler seasons to milk the money that are trash.

Milk the money or set up spinoffs which is what this season focused on it seems.

Hoping some of this season was because of covid / building spinoffs and with the covid delay it got hyped more and more that season 5 will be closer to back to seasons 1-3

I'm rooting for the Coyote Ugly chick to be transferred to Michigan, where there's a prison break in Kingstown and she gets back to Montana to save the day somehow...maybe with some horsey tricks?

I had no idea TS was responsible for Hell or High Water and my mind is blown. That's probably my favorite movie of the past 15 years and I can't understand how it could be a product of the same person putting out this ridiculousness. I really enjoy Yellowstone for what it is, but it is miles away from what HoHW was.

Probably a little easier to write a 90 minute film vs 4 seasons of a TV show totaling around 50+ hours
Im looking for Ray Finkle.... and a clean pair of shorts. Im just a very big Finkle fan. This is my Graceland, sir.

I wish they would show Beth drinking Mr. Pibb in Yellowstone as a nod to HoHW, but the writers would probably make it Jamie's favorite drink.

Am I the only one super annoyed with Monica wanting to get away from Yellowstone? She is so short-sighted. She wants to the ranch to go back to her people. Her son IS her people. Kayce IS set to inherit 1/3 of the the ranch. Beth doesn't want any party of it and Jamie's not going to be running the show. When Kayce dies the ranch goes to her son, "her people".

I was super satisfied when Summer ended up getting 15 years for each assault of a peace officer. Judge was 100% correct about her.

Don't get me wrong, I love the characters on the Yellowstone ranch but they're murderers. They're likable but they're corrupt to the bone. It would be one thing if it happened once or twice over a span of a generation but they're killing and covering it up at will. It's just a show and it's entertaining but the Duttons are toxic.

And 15 years for assaulting a peace officer??? She punched an individual that is part of a corrupt organization. A punch does not equal 15 years. I'm very pro blue and almost everything protesting annoys the F out of me but that is a bit much when she was set up by Beth in the first place.

I know that and you know that (about the Duttons) but Summer did not. She just showed up to protest another cause. She was CAREER criminal but because her cause was "just" she got away with it.

I agreed with the judge 100%.

Wasn't the first time she did it.

Anyway, 15 years is academic, she's serve 1/2 that time.

Doesn't matter, the judge doesn't have jurisdiction in the other cases. Was a complete dick move, especially on a plea agreement.

What a transformation from Billy in "Good Will Hunting" (Boston accent and all) to Rip in "Yellowstone". It was a shock awhile back (maybe season 2 or 3 ) when I realized who Rip was (Pitch Black) but just happened to flip through a channel showing "Good Will Hunting" today and he was in the scene. Just drove home how crazy the difference is.
