And if Monica doesn't recognize the difference between defending/eliminating threats to family and the ranch versus simply wiping someone out without cause, she and Kaycee's marriage isn't long for this world.
The problem with Monica's character, in a nutshell, is that she vascillates too much. And that compromises the character's inegrity, believability and likeability. She's ready to be bait to capture a predator of single women on the reservation ... but more than ready to swing to the opposite end of the spectrum when something offends her frail sensibilities. All in on having her son on the ranch and for John to have a role in his guidance and development -- then quick to label anything and everything on Yellowstone as evil.
