Had no idea Sheridan was Travis on the show.

Hell of a busy man.

Yeah, that's Barry Corbin.

And I agree, the other cowboys seem like not actors.
When the cowboys were getting the horses they, and Jimmy, were riding that day, those were real 6666 cowboys. Two of them (brothers) are from Sweetwater and a third one is married to a girl from Sweetwater. Jimmy's sex scene was filmed in the house where one of the Sweetwater cowboys lives with his real life wife.

Between these guys and Buster Welch, Sweetwater may find its way into the show!!

So my wife asked me, "Wasn't Jamie's mom Johns sister?" And I was just like, "Yeah, makes sense. Didn't they say or imply that when he came around?"

Looked into it and apparently it's a pretty popular fan theory. Not claiming for us to have come up with it at all. I think it was just more obvious had most of us been paying more attention to the story lines rather than *****ing about Taylor putting on a show for half the season.

Full disclosure I *****ed a lot. I swear an entire episode of run time this season has been Taylor doing this:

AKA the Command Center guy...

Just making sure that you know that Taylor Sheridan with a group of his Yellowstone investors bought 6666 this last year. I think the formal name of the 6666 owner now is "Yellowstone Creators Group."

Cowhorse Full Contact https://www.cowhorsefullcontact.com/

Started it about three years ago with no sponsors etc. Has grown to having about thirty sponsors and also selling quite a bit of branded clothing. Now they are offering a paid, premium service for the latest podcasts. But, there are still about 60 older episodes (two to four hours each) that are available without a subscription. One of his two partners (the talent/hosts) was shown doing quite a bit of fence work in Fort Worth on the most recent episode of Yellowstone.

Yes I did know that. Another Sweetwater tie in. For the last 5 years or so the general counsel for the 6666 Ranch is married to a guy who grew up in SW. THEY spent Christmas in Breckinridge so I assume she still has that job.

Another thought from the past two episodes.

Why would John agree to run for governor when:

He hates politics;

Doesn't consider himself adept at it (versus srong-handed wild west justice that he metes out as needed)

Kaycee has always -- although sometimes reluctantly -- done John's bidding when the family's greater good has been invoked. Why would John have not laid that out in this instance? Particularly since some of the ranchers had already approached Kaycee about their desire for him to run -- with their support?

And can anyone actually believe that John wouldn't have some loyal non-family members that he could prevail upon to run against Jamie and when elected, do his bidding?

Pretty sure Jamie's baby momma answered this question for you.

He doesn't intend to be governor. He's running to beat Jamie. Once Jamie drops out, he'll drop out and be able to hand pick who steps up to take the spot.

I'll be shocked if my cousin doesn't find himself in a cameo at the 6666 at some point. He's a horseman, from Sweetwater, who met his wife while they were both working at the 6666. She was in vet school at the time and has now graduated. If he does make it into the show, I'll be calling him Jimmy for the rest of his F'ing life.

Just wanted to recognize the incredible Aggie connections to this show. The "cowboy/cowgirl" culture is lost on most Texans, and this show delivers. But there is a ton of "showing off", as Taylor said in the last episode. Some of it comes across as downright hokey, but I still enjoy it!

I will completely give props to the episode for one all inclusive and profound quote Sheridan says: "that's not cowboyin', that's just showin' off."

I don't think many folks watching the show understand that and it's important in my opinion. There is a lot of overlap between what you see at the livestock show and other shows and what happens on a ranch, but there is probably more that doesn't.

I think the show is doing fine, either way.

Agreed. I think his line about his best ride being when he was alone and nobody saw was great as well. Good way to look at anything we do in life. Always strive to do your best even if you don't get recognition for it.

We actually laughed out loud when John lectured Beth on fighting with honor and fairly. I guess the guys he sent to the train station or had murdered don't count?

He sees those killings as warranted to protect his land and family and those people getting their just desserts. Thus, their death was. "honorable." Hurting or killing innocent third parties, not so much. Similar to the mafia honor code.

So, when they told Kayce that he would have to go without food and water for 4 days and nights, the wife and I looked at each other and said "Screw that"!

And then, when they left him at the ritual site, there was the line that went something like..."Smoke the pipe when you pray"

Haha. Bunch of stoner Indians must of come up with this ritual! I bet the first Indian that ever did this ritual was just a dude that smoked too much of the pipe and just plain forgot to eat or drink and then he had "visions".

He then probably went back to his village and told his fellow Indians, "Man, you have to try this stuff! It will blow your mind"

Then it became a ritual.

Kind of like Aggies and how we make traditions...

I like that the season finale will occur with no doubt chaos ensuing. John and Rip will be out hunting down people that have wronged them while Kayce is high, trapped in a 4x4 roped in square with his shirt off under a tree.

She may have said it ... but it's pretty sure she's not in John's inner circle ... not does she have a clue as to what motivates him.

John hasn't shown any inclination to take the two move or multiple move path when a single, straight to the bottom line shot would do. Direct. And to the point.

It just doesn't track with the way they've constructed his character and personna.
htxag09
How long do you want to ignore this user?

Imo, it fits pretty well. He doesn't want Jamie to have the job. He doesn't think anyone in his inner circle can beat Jamie as Jamie has the experience. So he's going to knock Jamie out himself then let someone else take the position so he doesn't have to.

But this is all assumption as we haven't heard from john, himself, regarding any of it. I'm sure it'll all come out in time.

Right. Like the poor vet who got blown up after they sabotaged his gas line because he knew too much?

Or the first guy they took to the train station just because he was annoying and a bully to the other hands?

Yup, just kill him. That's honorable and fair…

Or killing the land developer with a rattlesnake while he's fly fishing because they thought he was responsible for the attack on the Duttons ( ok, granted Rip did it and John was in a coma )
