I wouldn't be so sure of that. Places like Target and Barnes & Noble have sections dedicated to K-Pop. Not other Asian or European music, but for sure K-Pop. It must sell enough for them to devote shelf space to it.
K-Pop may not register on the public consciousness for older males who grew up on rock, country, etc, but it certainly has some standing in the U.S. with some portion of the population.
Lisa's group Blackpink has multiple videos with over 1B views apiece, some over 2B. And she only just released her first solo album in the last couple of weeks, and one video has over 275M views (which was previously posted in this thread, "Rock Star").
There's certainly some public consciousness about her and K-Pop.
