Even if they suspect it is a fake call because they've had two fake calls of shorts fired from the same address, they have to respond. If even one unit goes out, it falls under the definition of 'swatting'.

Again, Swatting does not mean the SWAT team was sent out.
It means people with guns were sent out, and all it takes is someone on either side to have a misunderstanding and someone is dead.

Swatting is EXTREMELY dangerous and should be a much higher punishment IMO

My understanding is that in addition to the "SWAT"-ing and other harassment, Jeff Metcalf was let go by his realtor office due to the constant death threats the office was receiving (and I imagine just the general publicity itself was enough to cause action).
It is a shame, disgrace the way the Anthony family has acted throughout this tragedy.

That sucks for him. He publicly forgave his sons killer before the body was even cold yet, and still this is how he is treated. There's lessons to be learned here.
