We have figured out how to do this since the Sam Shepard case decades and decades ago. Frankly, I was dismayed the court even cited that case. Was really reaching with that one.

Been in front of this judge. He isn't going to be intimidated by defense group hoodlums trying to hijack the media. Absent mistakes, I think he'll try to enforce it fairly.

Kid made a really bad decision and I still remember his brother and his mom talking about it with the media. He probably won't get the DP, but he should. All athletic events in MS and HS involve metal detector and purse screening now because of this dude. A year before my kid was winning an FFL title on that same football field. Get that **** out of Frisco.

He's an outstanding judge from a family of lawyers and judges. He will not be the least bit intimidated. He's signed many a search warrant for me and he and his family are pro police, as much as you can be as a judge. But he's about fairness and has a crap ton of experience. Perfect judge for this.

he is charged with murder (not capital murder), which does not carry death penalty or life without parole as a punishment.

I'm predicting he'll get sentenced to no more than 20 years. He'll serve 12 or so. Then he will get out and end up a leech on society and a frequent flyer in the jail because he will want an opulent lifestyle that cannot be accomplished legally with his record.
