But I'm at a Ruth Chris's steak house watching the Yanks whipping up on the Rays.

Napoli with a salami for the Sox!!

Watching who whipping up on who?

I miss Don & Jerry. Best duo in baseball. By far.

The year Remy was out was both frustrating and sad. Rem went into the booth at the end of the season and said "Don, I really want to apologize to you. You've had to do this season on your own or with a new person every night. I know how hard it's been for you and I'm sorry." Don said "don't worry, get healthy and return ASAP."

9 RBIs spread over three hitters! Napoli with 5, Middlebrooks with 3 and Salty with 1.

Sox win 9 to 6!

Rays pitchers: Three games in a row, three or fewer hits.

I was starting to get worried about Middlebrooks.

Sox are keeping it close! 13-0 with the A's up!

Nice job guys. With the rain falling it could be an early night and I am sure they are hoping it is.

It wasn't pretty, but the Sox were able to scratch their way to a series win in the rubber match with the A's today.

Oakland's offense is absolutely relentless. Their hitters make you work for all 27 outs for sure (and their best hitter Cespedes isn't even healthy at the moment). Just makes what tampa was able to do to them in the series before all the more impressive.

Not sorry to see those guys leave, hopefully they'll have an easier time taking care of business against the AAAAstros

Glad the sox were able to hold onto that win. I couldn't even watch sportscenter last night, b/c I htought I might have to relive the 13-0 blast.

A's are very relentless this season.

Sox have sent Aceves down, for Lavarnway. Aceves has 72 hours to report to Pawtucket...it sounds like they're trying to find a suitor to trade him too...good luck with that

Did I miss something? Why are Sox games starting 30 min earlier now?

Pretty sure these 6:35 ET start times are just temporary. Something about having a ton of april home games the front office wanted to offer fans with kids a chance to come to a midweek game that started a little earlier hoping to increase ticktet sales for some non-marquee matchups against the A's and astros

I consider the fact that Clay has given up two runs to the Stros a massive failure.

Sox take game two from the Astros. I know that it is the Stros but the Sox are playing VERY well!

I knew that I had virtually guaranteed a great season in Boston all by myself.

Anyway, O's are on a roll out in OAK...going for the sweep today with MiGo.

Sox are thumping them again today! John Lackey with a strong return!

6 innings, 5 hits, 4 K's and 1 ER. I'll take that as a positive (even if it is against the Astros).

He'd made a rehab start in AA Portland. I assume it was a tougher lineup.

yankees beat the knuckler in dickey, and hand him another loss.

I can't believe the red sox are 17-7 and the yankees are 15-9. No one (including myself) thought either team would be at the top of the standings at this point

This is why winning the offseason (See toronto blue jays) means jack ****

Umm, Sox fired Bobby V and hired John Farrell. I'd say that was winning!

I feel reasonably confident in saying that the pack will tighten up a bit.

By the end of the year, all of the AL East teams will get to play Houston, most of the AL East teams will deal with 10+ game road trips, etc.

Umps at it again.

Price throws a good pitch, called a ball, and is upset. Walks around a moment, steps on the rubber, throws the same pitch and gets a weak 1-3 groundout to end the inning.

He walks off the field to the dugout, still a little annoyed and appears to be talking to himself. His night is over anyway.

Umpire goes over towards the 1st base foul area and tells Price to "just throw the ball," or to "just throw the ****ing ball," depending on who you ask.

I'm a homer, so I believe the Rays, especially given that they all reacted immediately, giving the umpire a hard time. The ump then ejects Hellickson.

The postgame is equally contentious, with the Rays commenting during the interviews, Price tweeting repeatedly, and the umpire answering questions as well.

The ump calls Price "a liar" but admits telling him to "just throw the ball."

The punchline? The umpire also said that Price didn't say anything to him, but that Price's "body language" indicated he was "pissed off," prompting him to speak out.

The second and third jokes are that the Rays will likely get dinged for talking about it out of turn (plus whatever Helly gets); and that the umpire gets to keep on rolling.
