Yes, we are proud. Proud of that WS trophy. If you has ever won one you would be proud of it too.

Unfortunately you only have Nelson Cruz kicking a ball around in the right field corner while your World Series trophy ran around the bases to remember. That's nothing to be proud of.

For you visiting Arlington Ranger fans, you may see a strange flag in the outfield that you don't recognize. This is called a "World Series Championship Pennant". Don't stress, its perfectly normal for you guys to have never seen one this close up before. It won't bite or cut you, but the internal sadness and longing is a normal feeling that we fortunately no longer have to feelz. Please see a professional if it persists for more than a few more seasons.

Yeah, I suppose so. The Freese triple still hurts. I've never blamed Cruz. There were a number of things that went wrong that night, but I've always given credit to STL. Multiple HOF's on that team just wouldn't die, including Berkman, who should be in the HOF.

But your last sentence validates my statement. Astros fans are only proud of their team because they won the WS. Other fanbases support their teams prior to a title.

Nope. I'm proud of the team I have watched since the mid 70's. Been with them through thick and thin. But that WS trophy is a special level of pride.

When we win a second this season it will double the pleasure and double the fun.

That's rich coming from a Rangers fan. Majority of the Rangers "fans" I know were huge Astros fans while we were in college, despite growing up in the Metroplex, and only became Arlington fans once they got a team that wasn't calling washed up catchers from the Mexican league. Haven't seen as many since 2012.

Gotcha. It's my lucky day!!! I found a rare Astros diehard hiding out on the Texags MLB forum. The Astros lagging way behind Texas in attendance over the past 30 years proves my point.

Oh look. Attendance smack. How creative.

I can play that game. Rather than getting in your DeLorean lets just look at this year.

Your crappy ass Easy bake Oven of a stadium seats 48144. In 2019 you have sold 1.93 million tickets so far to date. Our air conditioned stadium that you are literally stealing the blueprints for seats 41168. But somehow we have sold 2.65 million tickets to games. Huh. You have a 17% larger stadium but packed in 44% fewer fans.

That doesn't seem right. Lets look at 2018.

In 2018 you had an attendance figure of 1.944 million and we were at 2.788 million. Pretty much the same figures. Your stadium is bigger (or is until until you tear it down) by 7000 seats but somehow more than 40% fewer fans showed up. I wonder why?

Which is why you take a survey over 30 years . . . across 4 stadiums of varying size. Come on mathguy!!! Where's the love bro???

Why does this thread exist? It seems like a few of us Rangers fans getting piled on by all the johnny-come-latelys. Fellow Kingwoodite, was that you I saw in HEB wearing the brand new Astros hat with the World Series logo on the side?

Nope. My Astros hat doesn't have a WS logo. It's my 3rd go-to hat after 2 A&M ones.

I cant stop laughing at this. I am literally choking on a cup of coffee here. You haven't posted here or on the Rangers thread all season. Not once until today. And you trot out that line. If I could use the laugh/cry emoji and award a blue star for trolling at the same time I would.

Pot meet kettle.

Its like clubbing baby seals in here. You know you shouldn't watch. You know its wrong. But you just cannot stop watching.

Why can't I post here? I had no idea an MLB page even existed. I'm not trolling the 2019 Astros thread . . . isn't this the smack talk thread?

I don't have the interest in scrolling back through 34 pages to see who the Rangers posters are. Are there any?

It's amusing as hell that you boys are still on that bandwagon Rangers fans crap at this point. I live here. The number of people that are "lifelong die hard Astros fans" has gone up precipitously in the last two years. We'll ignore the reality that that's literally every fan base ever and let you continue to pretend that Astros fans are true fans and everyone else is just fairweather.

Man, some fellow Rangers fans actually post on this thread. You guys are a glutton for punishment. As a Ranger fan living in Houston, it sucks big time. I'm constantly surrounded by a horde of johnny-come-lately Astros fans. They are such a proud bunch.
Every successful team has bandwagon members. I remember life long pow pow FPTR fans that posted during their back to back pennants that did not even know some pretty basic rules of the Game.

Obviously you're going to get a bigger, more active following when you're winning 100 games a year and most importantly, competing for World Series and winning one.

But most people posting on the TexAgs MLB board have probably been fans through the crap years. We are the ones who care so much that we have to talk about our team with people on the internet. And a lot of us were posting on that thread in the 100 loss years. I respect any fan, even rangers, who keeps wearing that hat and watching the game every night because they just can't help it no matter if you're contending or not.

I will say 2 things, if your a Grand Prarie fan still posting on this thread you've earned your non band wagon stripes.

However, no one rides a band wagon like Metroplex fan. It's mostly because no one is actually from the either of the major cities, everyone is from the suburban sprawl or north of the mason dixon line where they brought their own loyalties or don't care about sports.

The metroplex has a loyal fan base. Living in different cities around the country has shown me that.

I've been an Astros fan all my life ... the killer Bs were my childhood. But it was hard to talk trash from 2009-2014. Which is why I never did. I wouldnt be caught in the crossfires of a thread like this out of fear of looking stupid

Which is why I'm surprised to see so many rangers fans still on this thread talking s**t

I've been in Houston since 2012. Didn't see anything astros until 17. Barely registered even in 15-16. Hell, the team wasn't even on tv for 5 years. Still isn't offered in all Houston markets unless you have satellite. Contrast that with every Texas game being available in Houston on all cable/satellite options.

Seriously? It's baseball season. We like our team. This thread is specifically for trash talk. You'd be scared to post if your team sucked?? If that's the case, delete the thread because it may be a few years until Texas makes it back to postseason.
