Still doesn't even compare to the feeling of winning a world series.

You guys lost this season just like the rangers. We're in the same boat. Get over it son.
Now, that is rich.
Everyone else failed.
It's a very simple concept.
Oh, so tanking is no different than losing the World Series. Noted for future talks.

so you can choke again lol. this season hurts 1000x worse for you than it does metjholley16 said:
Rangers fans talking s**t about the Astros losing in the World Series. the Astros will make the World Series again before the rangers make the playoffs next?
Good luck with that son.tjholley16 said:

At least you're not being grouchy and defensive. Kudos to that.BMX Bandit said:

Congrats to all the Ranger fans. Truly a "where were you" moment. It's a memory you can tell your grand kids about years from now when going over great Ranger baseball stories

You know Astro fans in this thread would be gloating and pushing our faces into the mud if your boys pulled it off.
Yet there are Ranger fans praying that you'll sign Cole and viola, World Series Baby!Grapesoda2525 said:Good luck with that son.tjholley16 said:

Cole carried your team in the playoffs and he will either be gone to the highest bidder or he will take so much money from you guys that you can't sign anyone else.
Choking is being up 2 runs and 1 strike away from winning a World Series and blowing it...twice.The Ragonk Strikes Back said:so you can choke again lol. this season hurts 1000x worse for you than it does metjholley16 said:

The Astros were a juggernaut in the regular season. They were unstoppable.jkag89 said:Yet there are Ranger fans praying that you'll sign Cole and viola, World Series Baby!Grapesoda2525 said:Good luck with that son.tjholley16 said:

This year's Astros team was much more than Cole, and while we will miss him the Astros are still going to be in the postseason mix for at least the next couple of years. It just takes one or two players to step up during this time of year.
That's true. Even though we lost in both the 2010 and 2011 World Series, I still enjoyed the playoff runs and remember some games / moments fondly.mathguy86 said:Grapesoda2525 said:At least you're not being grouchy and defensive. Kudos to that.BMX Bandit said:

Grouchy? Yeah. We **** the bed. I'll admit it.
Defensive? Nah. We **** the bed. I'll admit it. Played like a t ball team when hitting with RISP.
I'll also admit that playing in and losing a WS is a whole lot better than losing 84 games in the regular season. Can't win It or lose it if you don't play in it.
I'd have to imagine it will be switching gears today since the offseason is officially here. A mod went in there and cleaned most of the trash talk up anyway.BMX Bandit said:
how much longer is "Ranger offseason thread" going to be all Astros talk?
This post doesnt belong on Texags. Its level headed, joyful, not condescending, and full of common sense.tjholley16 said:
All in all. The Astros had an incredible season and fell a game short. Weirdest World Series in that the home team didn't win a single game and the road team DOMINATED every game. Only one close game (game 1) and it made seven games.
The Astros will be back to the playoffs next year .... and I dont know when the Rangers will get there.
However both teams do have something to look forward to next year. Astros with a great young team, and the Rangers with an awesome new stadium.
No doubt. TJ has spewed nothing but hate and all of a sudden he goes soft on the thread. That 8th Ziegenbock will do that to a man.DeangeloVickers said:This post doesnt belong on Texags. Its level headed, joyful, not condescending, and full of common sense.tjholley16 said:

most of that hate was just directed at one or two rangers fans.... mainly one who likes his sodas on the purple side. I actually didn't have a problem with the Rangers while the Astros were in the NL because it wasn't even really a rivalry. But ever since 2015 it's ramped up. I love the rivalry now.South Platte said:No doubt. TJ has spewed nothing but hate and all of a sudden he goes soft on the thread. My hope is for a Astros/Rangers ALCS in the next few years.

yep.. both had 2-1 leads. The Astros choked it away worse though... 4 run lead in the 8th inning. Whats crazy is that we had an 86-76 record that year to make the wild card. The last 2-3 years that wouldn't even put a team within 8 games of the WC. The AL has gotten a lot betterRanger #007 said:tjholley16 said:most of that hate was just directed at one or two rangers fans.... mainly one who likes his sodas on the purple side. We had our shot in 2015 and both teams s*** the bed in the divisional round.
