We're currently at 17 Iranian ships sunk.

Brits sunk one in the Falklands war. Last time for US was WWII.

You know those sailors were happy they were away from home...then BOOM. I am glad we got rid of one of their warships. I also pity the men that got thrown in the drink. Naval warfare is a particularly brutal and merciless type of fight.
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

as far as our subs sinking a ship 1 for sure...there is some speculation we had a sub take out one of the Iranian's subs but that is not confirmed

IRIS Dena is the only confirmed kill by a US sub by torpedo since WW2. HMS Conqueror sank the General Belgrano during the Falklands War in 1982. You could include a North Korean mini sub sinking the ROKS Cheonan in 2010 as well though. HMS Conqueror is the only other confirmed nuclear sub to fire and sink an enemy ship during combat.

No video of that. Yeah sonar sounds will get the explosion and the crush but that's probably not something you want to release.

Are we targeting any of their military bases to kill soldiers or is coming later?

How is their military personnel split up? I think a poster said part of their military might switch sides

wondering if their is a lot of soldiers wanting regime change

yes the IAF is crushing their military bases

a Major in the Israeli Air Force just told his pilots they have killed "thousands" of military personnel

At some point it will come out who got the kill. Those guys will never have to buy a beer in a bar again.

you don't know that at all

the IRGC Navy is just as ideologically committed as other parts of the IRGC. or at least was before they were all destroyed.

and they weren't just galivanting around South America-

they were heading BACK to the Arabian Gulf from the Indian Ocean after attending an Indian Navy exercise. they could have been prepping to fire on us from behind.

Well, one would hope that experiences and lessons were learned from the earlier days of WW2 with the mk14 for testing equipment and quality control.

if Lord forbid we can't get rid of the Ayatollahs running the Islamic Republic-

they will simply lie and gaslight as they do every single day and claim (as they do) that they killed thousands of Americans and wiped out Tel Aviv.

we have to come up with a STRATCOM plan where even the most miserable jihadist will have to admit they lost- else they will just pretend they won a great victory over the Great Satan.

all of that may be true, but I can guarantee that crew was happy to not be caught in the vicinity of Iran when all this kicked off. They also probably never thought in a million years they'd be facing getting torpedoed in the Indian Ocean

Moreover, the Dena was described as "the pride of Iran's Navy." The sailors assigned to the Dena would have been carefully screened and selected for their loyalty to the IR.

well then they were just as incompetent as the rest of the Iranian military.

because Israel has at least 8 Dolphin class submarines who are likely tracking every Iranian ship they can find.

Can you imagine being the captain of that ship and getting your orders? "Hey all the rest of the ships in the Navy have been sunk hurry up and get back here we need your help."

Tough to say that. A sub detecting a surface ship and a surface ship detecting a submarine are vastly different levels of difficulty. The pride of the Iranian navy might not have equipment sensitive enough to find a modern U.S. submarine.

Wouldn't this draw NATO in? Not that NATO installations haven't previously been attacked...

Think I read that a Turkey official said that indications were it was intended for Cyprus but went off course. If it was IRGC launched towards Cyprus, it was probably intended for RAF Akrotiri. The same RAF base that has been targeted by shahed drones the last few days launched probably by Hezbollah who has their own problems to contend with now from the south because of Israel's ground and air activity.

Chatter from UK side of the pond on X regarding Starmer's and other government responses can only be described as ranging from shocked to livid at the inaction and perceived poor planning that the UK has done. Not only that, but the announced deployment of HMS Dragon (which was in maintenance I believe) is going to be delayed by a week. UK is sending more air defense to Akrotiri though, so there's that I guess.

I hope Israel steps it up on Hezbohla. They did not think Hezbohla would fight with this intensity. Heavy fighting on the ground between the 2. Also France is urging Israel not to do a land incursion into Lebanon

Sri Lanka is reported as saying they're helping to recover 32 injured from the water but no ships were near. If it was an SSN, this is the first sub sinking a ship since HMS Conqueror during the Falklands War and the most recent since a North Korean mini sub sunk the ROKS Cheonan in 2010.

Don't cheat now. What did the HMSConqueror sink?
Hint: it was an Exocet armed warship n the South Atlantic
