Doubtful and here's why. We have really not treated the Kurds very well over the years yet they will still answer the call if we decide we have a use for them. Why? Because we are their best chance to get into a situation where in they are just left alone and allowed to exist without oppression and interference from Turks and Arabs.

Update: There are conflicting reports regarding what is currently happening in northwest Iran at the border with Iraq. It is unclear whether a ground operation by the Kurdish-Iranian militias has indeed begun or whether this move may take place in the coming hours. A senior official in one of the Kurdish-Iranian factions denied to me that a ground operation has begun. I will update as soon as the situation becomes clearer.

We have supported the Kurds for years and they haven't fully turned on us yet. Not saying they won't but we've had forces embedded with them since the 80s.

They are tracking 1000s of aircraft from multiple countries and missiles and drones. Reasonable some evaded detection. I can't imagine the stress those guys are under.

The Hubs is retired aircraft fire rescue. As long as it happened on the AOA, it was just a "bad landing" not a crash was the joke.

These days bombs can be optionally laser guided and/or inertial guidance /gps aided. It can be dropped on a predetermined coordinate or have a coordinate derived from a targeting pod and once in flight it can be updated referencing a laser spot against its own guidance. In this case any laser spot is almost certainly coming from an aircraft. For individual strikes, a laser host is more likely especially against a target like a launcher that could move.

Buffs can be equipped with SNIPER ATP with allows for laser designating targets. Very unlikely we have people on the ground doing that. In addition, any number of aircraft can be equipped to do the same and function as an AFAC...

Im thinking in this case, probably lazed by pods mounted on the aircraft. But I'm pretty sure they can do both.

Could be lasered by a drone that some significant on station time.
