Reporter: "Tony Parker.... where is he right now in the series? Doesn't seem like you are happy with his play in this series."

POP: "I'm not ever happy with anybody's play."

I hope Blair doesn't get suspended. The more he plays the better for SA. He had a good game tonight, no doubt but extended minutes for him hurts a team more than helps. We know all about that.

TP looked pretty anxious/upset during the postgame interview, especially for just having won a close one. I think he knows his ankle isn't holding up.

Spurs play better against the Mavs with major players out. Everyone knows this.

What a game. Sunrise came awfully early on the east coast after that one.

I am definitely concerned about Tony. He lives in the lane when he is healthy and couldn't even get by guys like Dirk and Blair when they switched on him. Where is his patented tear drop? He should be killing the Mavs since they are constantly switching pick and rolls. He has shown flashes early in games (mostly jump shots), but just isn't himself. The Spurs are deep, but it is almost impossible to overcome having your leading scorer that relies on speed playing on one good leg. I am hoping it is as much a confidence/matchup thing as it is an injury thing. He still came up with a huge jumper late in the game.

I am really disappointed in Leonard and Green. They both should be turning the corner and consistent after some success in the regular season and last years finals run. They need to be the ones stepping up when the leading guys aren't getting it done. They both look tentative and scared right now. Leonard at least has shown flashes and has played good D, but just isn't getting enough finding enough good looks to be a factor. Green might has well have stayed at home for this series.

On the opposite end Manu is the main reason the Spurs haven't gone home. The Spurs have not been the better team for much of this series, but Manu wills them to victory. Can he keep this up for three more games?

Diaw and Splitter are playing very solid basketball both defending Dirk and hitting key shots while playing within the offense. Everyone will be talking about Diaw's three, but Splitters FTs late in the 4th were just as huge. People mock his contract, but he has earned much of it this series.

These last three games look to be as exciting as the first 4. Before this series started, I though the Mavs would fold late in games especially after getting punched in the mouth. I couldn't have been more wrong. They aren't just a very good offensive team, or good for an 8 seed, they are just a good all around basketball team. Ellis and Dirk could start for anyone in this league and Carlisle is a better coach than people realize.

I can't wait until Wednesday night.

Something was wrong with Tony even before he rolled the ankle. His back must be giving him major problems, cause he hasn't gone to the paint hardly at all this series, for him.

Maybe that also explains the Spurs flat and lackluster performances. They know he's hobbled and that they aren't going anywhere without him close to 100%.

If I remember correctly, the Mavs couldn't stop him first quarter of game 1 between getting in the paint and his jump shot. Don't know what happened to Parker but I hope it gets better.

I agree that in game 1 he looked normal getting to the lane, but the rest of the series he has looked off. That inital spurt in game 1 is what gives me a little hope that it might be more confidence or the Mavs D than it is an injury. In game three he came out shooting lights out early but still rarely got in the lane. In every game he has faded late.

It might also be a conditioning thing. He looked very tired on the play where Ellis hit a wide open three in the corner, when the Spurs were up 20. Between chasing around Calderon or Harris and running the Spurs offense he might just not be conditioned well right now for heavy playoff minutes. Either way it is concerning that he is looking so off.

If we make it past the Mavs, every team we face will at least try to run a similar defense at times after the Spurs struggles in this series. Luckily most teams don't have the offensive firepower to accomplish what the Mavs are doing.

In Game 1, Parker was in the lane as much as he wanted.

In game 2, Parker was 0-1 from the paint and 5-9 from outside the paint.

In game 3, Parker was 2-6 from inside the paint and 7-12 from outside the paint.

In game 4, Parker was 1-6 from the paint and 4-8 from outside.

Parker being 3-13 from inside the paint in games 2-4, you can definitely say something is wrong with him.

Blair was 9th in PPG and 10th in MPG. Major player or end of the bench minute filler?

I think the reference was to Parker, not Blair?

Gotta be some nagging injuries. Was hoping he'd healed up somewhat but he appears really off/out of it since game 1.

Fun series. 2nd quarter funk was just too much to overcome. Points in the paint difference was staggering. Manu had it way too easy in the 2nd quarter. Mavs did step up the D in the 2nd half comeback.

The Mavs' resiliency in not giving up when down by 20 was impressive. One thing is certain: They aren't intimidated, and they obviously believe they can win each game.

Blair's showing was nice, but I'm not too worried if he's out for game 5.

Monta's got to keep driving. Harris too, when he's in. I'd like to see more Harris-to-Wright, but he hasn't really been able to fit in this series.

Yeah, I'm referring to the fact that the Spurs seem to house the Mavs when any one of Parker, Duncan or Schnozobili are out for some reason.

At least Mills and Ginobili are more effective than Parker on defense. Fewer wide open looks for Calderon or Harris when they are in the game. That doesn't make up for Parker's offense but it helps, especially if Manu/Splitter/Diaw can get the pick and roll working again.

Patty played some pretty good defense tonight but he was awful defensively the first three games. Tony doesn't have the energy but he contests shots well for the most part.

Well, the Spurs did beat the Mavs like 10 times in a row leading up to game 2. So they just always beat the Mavs in recent memory.

He will occasionally play nice one-on-one defense (he had great possession against Harris the other night, although Harris did eventually score) and gets through screens for the most part. Every screen is taking Parker completely out of the play, which is why Calderon is perpetually open.

Calderon has lit up Patty just as much on those screens. They started playing them a little differently in game 4 though.
