Looks like we have some realistic Spurs fans. And yes, I definately dislike the Spurs. Here is the thing...I don't dislike any of the other teams that have beaten the Mavericks over the last 13 years or so, except the Spurs and Heat....the common theme...they both have phantom fouled their way to multiple advantages within a series against the Mavericks. It is a cheap way to gain an edge, plain and simple.

And what is more objective than a video that shows exactly what I am referring to? The same arguments you make in favor of your own team, you turn around and complain about the Mavericks, Rockets, or whomever else it is you are playing.

Just call it like it is. The Spurs flop, and they flop alot, especially in the playoffs. Always have, always will.


MANU invented that level of flop?

I don't understand the huge overbearing hate for a player when you cheer for a player that also flops and flails all the time.

Unless the player you hate is Dwyane Wade, LeBron or Chris Paul.

Saying every team flops is like saying everyone eats....but that 600 pound lady from "my 600 pound life" that was getting her stomach stapled on tv last night eats ALOT more than I do, so it really isn't a fair comparison now is it?

Carter traveled on his game winning 3 in game 3. There, see, it's ok because I was still pumped we won that game, but I can still admit what I thought appeared obvious on the replays.

Absolutely no Spurs fans say that Manu doesn't flop; we simply admit that all teams do it. Mav fans just have to take it to the extreme and say NOBODY flops more than Manu and NOBODY whines more than Duncan. It's incredibly stupid and hypocritical when Dirk is seen complaining to the refs non-stop and your own players are flopping as well; Carter had some pretty bad ones this series and Dirk flails quite a bit. It's just stupid to argue about when all teams do it. Then you turn around and say we are complaining about the refs when you are doing exactly that. You can watch any NBA game and see the exact same things you're complaining about. You're just spinning yourself in a circle and pissed because you don't like the Spurs so 'they're clearly the worst at it' even though the evidence refutes it. It's not surprising to see other fans teams not like it or say similar things about the Spurs; pretty common for opponents fans to grow to dislike a team with such sustained success - it goes with the territory and is rooted in jealousy.

Like a fine wine, the Spurs flopping only gets better with age.

No one flops more than the Spurs (I'm looking at you Clippers). No one complains to the officials more than the Spurs, and it isn't even close. Literally every timeout and dead ball, Duncan, Parker or Pops is visiting with the officials. Yet, no one gets more calls than the Spurs.

And right in line, no one is more blind to this than Spurs fans, and no one complains more about these exact same things you have been getting away with for 15 years, than Spurs fans.

Ignorance is bliss.

Every team including the spurs sells fouls. I wish the refs allowed more physical play like they did in the 80s, but those days are gone. Since that's the case, we're going to continue to see players sell fouls as they try to convince the refs that the contact was hard.

Thank you for making my point, Mak. I will admit that jealousy plays a substantial part. I wish Manu had been a Mav. But he's not, so I'm bound to hate him. You have to admit that he makes it easy, and I'm not even taking about his ability to score in bunches when the game's on the line. Duncan's whining is literally the only thing I can complain about when it comes to Duncan. Good guy off the court. Good teammate. Has love for his city. And he happens to be the GOAT at PF, IMO. So you're to going to have to permit me to hate his incessant hound dog face and constant caucusing with the refs. At least with Dirk, we can attribute that to his being a euro.

I would probably hate Manu if he were on the Mavs and does the things he does. Crazy passes, crazy shots, crazy flops... And they Work! Not as much as they use to, but he's still a heck of a player and it would drive me nuts to play against him.

No, the talking points are actually backed by an "as voted by the players" list, video evidence, etc... Doesn't get any more credible than that. Parker flops, Ginobli flops, Splitter flops, Mills flops...they all flop. They flopped more in 1 quarter than the Mavs did all series, which is why you can't produce such a video for every team...only those that truly have mastered the art of pretending to be fouled.

Think about that...your team pretends to be fouled at a feverish pace.

It has been 7+ years since that last championship Spurs fans.

And again....the everyone does it argument just isn't valid, when some do it at a significantly higher rate than others.

No one is saying that the Spurs are the only team that flops...they just flop a heck of alot more than just about every other team, save for maybe the heat and clippers.

To be honest, if I was on your side of this argument, I wouldn't even be giving me the time of day...I would have said "scoreboard" and moved on...But I do appreciate the opportunity to unload the dump truck of Spurs hate!

You could easily produce a video like that of any team. You just have to have enough hate and bitterness combined with your mom letting you live in her basement for free. It has to be the perfect storm.

Just a lifelong NBA/Maverick fan, and it is tiresome watching teams like the Spurs insult competition and the game by pretending to be fouled. I've seen less acting in wrestling than when I watch the Spurs and select few other teams play. I wish when a player flopped, the next time down the floor, the other team would take the guys head off and let him know what a foul really is. If he is to continue that, there will be hell to pay. Unfortunately it has just become an accepted part of the game, much like soccer.

What is just about as annoying is when your team doesn't do anything about it, unfortunately.


As an official, when you are watching the tape, and you see a team consistenly tricking you into calling a fall and making you look terrible at your job, that you just might stop giving those guys the calls....yet magically, it never stops.

If the NBA truly fined flopping, then there should have been about a dozen issued to the Spurs, and a couple to Vince Carter this past series.
