Rather play against Asik than Lopez.
Rather play against Howard than TheMarcus.
Harden is a better scorer, but I would rather face him over Lillard because he is so poor defensively.
Matthews > Lin.
Parsons is better than Batum, but it isn't a night and day difference with Batum's better rebounding and passing.
Portland is thin past those guys. Beverly can be scary, but he isn't 100%.

McHale is not a good coach. Stotts is unknown.

Also, I would prefer Houston for us in the 2nd round if we make it there. They have a very nonexistent bench, and our 2nd stringers would dominate the court when it is mainly 2s on 2s.

Houston is definitely the preferable matchup for whoever wins this series, at least I think. That said, I have a hard time seeing them beating Portland for 3 straight.

I hadn't really thought about the travel time in terms of who we play... Houston would definitely be easier in that regard. But if memory serves Houston gave us (spurs) more problems in the regular season than Portland. I don't watch a ton of regular season games, so I could be wrong.

Don't really care about the regular season matchups. The SPurs had beat Dallas 10 straight times and every game is a struggle. Playoff basketball is just a different animal.

Agree that regular season means squat. There's way too many variables. Out of 4 meetings, odds are that for at least 3 of those 4 against any given team, one team or the other was missing a significant player, was playing on back to back nights while the other team rested, or was subject to some other happening that makes those results completely irrelevant.

This hasn't happened in our series vs Portland, and I think that is a major reason why he has struggled so much. A big part of his game is getting to the line, and when they aren't calling fouls he struggles. It is playoff basketball, so I totally get the lack of calls, but we have gotten boinked on multiple calls that aren't getting called for Harden, but whatever.

Regardless, we gotta take care of business tomorrow night. Otherwise Aldridge and Lillard are y'alls problem now :/

Really good article on the success San Antonio is having with the pick and roll. To back up the point about how bad Dirk is at defending it, the article points out that last night the Spurs ran 42 pick and rolls with Dirk being involved in 20. Of those 20, the Spurs scored or got to the free throw line 13 times.

You may have figured out by now that there is a 5 post per 24 hour limit. You probably shouldn't have blown them before the game tonight. That lasts until you are at like 30 posts and then the restriction goes to like 6-8 posts per day until 100. The only way to avoid that is to buy a star for a month. That's the $6 or so option and just get one month for the playoffs. You also get a WatchList where you can go to and see all the posts that are after you on all threads you post on.

Also you get nice emoticons like the one I'm using on this post.

Inconsistent moderation is usually inconsistent. I've not seen many bans or post edits on this board. Staff are probably Rockets fans.

Stay away from personal attacks and images with profanity and you'll be ok.

Probably anything you've seen on Old Rivalries is off limits here.
