because i enjoy discussing the show as separate from the books. in the book thread we're discussing a lot about what will be shown in the next episodes and the implications on changes to future event, and here i'm just talking about what i liked from the previous episode

i'm trying best to be mindful of what i post here though, i.e. only quoting lines from the show

Nothing is wrong with posting in both forums...

I also didn't think about it at the time but yes, Bronn was missing.

I'll have to go back and read that section of the book to see if it is different.

Every time Tyrion slaps Joffery I laugh out loud. One of my guilty pleasures of the show!

Would baelish recognize arya? She was never really st any of the same events as the other stark girl

In the interactive features on HBOgo they had the scene from earlier this season when Baelish introduces himself to Sansa and Arya at the tournament (just before the Mountain kills his horse). He mentions he's a longtime friend of their mother's and Arya asks how he got the name Littlefinger.

So he does know who Arya is, though apparently has only met her once and may have only known her on sight initially because she was sitting with the family. Whether he recognizes her now out of context dressed down with a different haircut...good question.

From his look I thought he thought she looked familiar but was trying to place her, she is in about the last place she'd ever be expected to be. The fact that he commented to Tywin about the Stark girls immediately after is either telling or wonderfully coincidental...I don't know which.

Overall, really great episode. I very much enjoyed seeing Joffrey realize he had no control over the situation (and then get smacked around by Tyrion).

Great episode. I love how King's Landing is falling apart. I think the writers are going great to keep the story moving forward with some many characters and story lines. They didn't waste any time, BAM, Winterfell is getting attacked and **** is going down.
I thought the stealing of the Dragons was done well. They actually had a resemblance of a child screaming but with a reptilian tone. Pretty cool.
I do have one questions, what is going on North of the Wall? I know they are looking for widling scouts. But who is the ultimate villain north of the wall? He's a former Ranger right? I find it so hard to understand the dialogue from the Wall folks. "its rubbish"

As far as we know in the show, they're looking for one Mance Rayder, former Crow and now leader of the Free Folk (Wildlings).

As explained in the episode, he's gathered all the Free Folk at a particular mountain and seems to be looking for something. That's what we know.

Are they also still looking for the one missing dude, I forget his name, with the remote chance that they find him still alive?? (Ned's brother maybe? Sorry, I am horrible with names on this show)

Yeah, Ned's brother Ben (or Benjen) Stark that was chief ranger is still MIA. Last we saw of him was taking off to go ranging and John wanted to go and Uncle Ben stomped on his nuts and told him he had to earn respect on the wall. That was like the very beginning of season 1.

That's correct BenJen Stark has not been seen in a long time and was ranging (what rangers do north of the wall) when he was last seen.

Craster said he stopped in for a night but that was it, has not been seen/heard from since.

Geez, I am so bad with listening to the details of the show. Completely missed this dialog whenever it was earlier this season.

The last part is truely infered, but assumed because he isn't back at the night's watch and the lord commander is the one who asked about him and if anyone knows where the head ranger's location it should be the lord commander.

The other part of the convo does happen. 2-3 episodes ago, first episode they are at crasters; while sitting around the fire.

Ya tons of little things that are glossed over can be important later. If you're watching the show I would say watch it 2 or 3 times.

yeah this show can be tough, it's very information dense. if y'all have any of those friends who occasionally try to make remarks, jokes, questions, etc. while you watch (which i do ) then you should watch the episodes more than once

Probaly my favorite episode of the season so far. A few thoughts:

I had been getting a little bored of the storyline at Winterfell, until this week. Theon parading in and effing everything up.You could really see how conflicted Theon was. The beheading attempt was brutally savage. I think Osha should have just killed Theon after seducing (she is unexpectedly hotter than I thought) him, but I would like to see Robb/Bran/someotherStark get revenge.

King's Landing is falling apart. I love seeing Joffrey get put in place, especially by Tyrion. Not as much great Tyrion dialogue this week, but seeing him slap Joffrey was great. I too think The Hound has a thing for Sansa.

The Harrenhall scenes are getting intense. I had to remind myself to breathe during the dialogue with Tywin, Baelish and Arya. The tension was that high. Arya is a great child actress.

I literally have no idea what to expect next with Daenerys' storyline. It really saddens me to see Irri get killed off, she was very good eye candy. Speculations on the guy walking off with the dragons? New character or someone we already know?

Huh? Irri was maybe cute, but I think you are mistaking the eye candy. Doreah is the hand-maiden eye candy in Quarth.

Irri (dead):

Doreah (Eye Candy, still alive *I hope):

I'm not sure if the casting is accurate to the book or not, but if the intention of the casting/directing was to make you hate and feel sorry for Theon all at the same time, they did an EXCELLENT job. There's something about his little weasle, sniveling, spineless personality that I detest....but then there are times I feel sorry for him because I feel like he's just trying to please his father (though he's torn on which one to please).

Not sure if it's accident or intentional but I feel like the guys doing a great job in that role.

I miss alot of things in the show, but I thought this was pretty much a given after several scenes involving these two in Season 1.

I had to rewind twice during the last scene, to ensure it was Irri and not Doreah! Strange that she was not pictured though, as those 2 were always in the same room, and for the most part, Doreah is the dragons' "babysitter".

Great episode and can agree with most of what was already said as well as a few other things -

The Hound has a thing for Sansa
Great scene with Littlefinger, Tywion and Arya
Robb has himself a little crush that Lady Stark quickly squandered
Snow is not the brightest crayon in the box (and I think she was trying to get a little frisky with him)
Laughed my ass off when Tyrion slapped Joffrey and then thought to myself, now he's got cow pie on his hand, he should have slapped the other side!

Love this show!

plus HBO has a spoiler-free character guide

Yes, speaking of the HBO episode guide, earlier this season it mentioned that the Hound had a soft spot for Sansa.

This episode was definitely one of the best, maybe second best at worst so far. The scene with Theon back in Winterfell was heart-wrenching, awkward, and horrifying, and one of the most gruesome executions I've ever seen-- and I think it had more impact because they didn't show it.
