I hadn't even considered a Benjin/Mance Rayder tie-in. Man I have to get my head straight before I watch these shows.

Going back to the burned kids, did any of you notice that both of the bodies were missing an arm? Both looked to have been cut off just above the elbow. I don't know if that was an important detail, or just something that coincidentally happened in the burning process.

Also, I thought of another question last night. What ever happened to that braggart bannerman of Robb's? The one that got his hand chewed on by Robb's direwolf and was the first person to declare Robb "King of the North"? He played a pretty prominent roll last season, but I don't recall seeing him at all this season. Or was that another unfortunate cast change and he's the father of the jailor that Jamie killed?

In the last episode, Rob talks about going somewhere to negotiate a surrender (he's going to take the nurse so she can get supplies). Where is he going and who is surrendering? Not sure if it's important in the story, I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss something important.

That guy that Grey Wind chewed his fingers off is the Greatjon Umber. He's still around just doesn't really have a role.

The guy who wanted revenge really bad for his son that Jaime killed is Lord Karstark.

MSFC, they are/were going to the Crag to accept surrender of what I guess are Lannister forces.

I would imagine, since they haven't talked about it, most of y'all don't ever realize where they are in relation to KL, winterfell, Lannisport, and whereever Tywin is from (can't think of it.)

I would agree with this somewhat. I know where Tywin is, since Harrenhall is on the map, and I know that Stanis is sailing towards KL (from the south, I think Tyrion said), but I have absolutely no idea where Robb currently is.

I think a re-watch of the last two episodes with captions on is needed for any wondering about a mance and benjen tie in.

It's clearly explained in the episodes.

I won't say anythign else.
Good to know, I've been watching HBO Go on the xbox app. I enjoyed watching them on computer with the extra features right there in the margin.

I was also wondering what happened to Ghost. They had a minor convo about how wild animals can't be pets but he faithfully followed Snow everywhere only to just disappear one episode. Weird.

At this point in the story, Robb's forces are mostly in the Riverlands, which generally lie west of Harrenhal and northeast of Lannisport and Casterly Rock (the seat of the Lannisters.) The Riverlands are the turf of the Tullys (Catelyn's and Lyssa's clan.)

this isn't a spoiler because in the books you don't even really see where robb is unless he's with catelyn (a PoV, while robb is not)

but right now i think he is in the Westerlands, which is the Lannister domain. casterly rock (the seat of Tywin) is near the western coast, and i'm pretty sure that as of last episode, robb is around an area called the Crag, who have bannerman loyal to Tywin

Thanks G Martin

I guess that explains why they haven't shown many women around, considering all the ribbing in Season 1 about bedding a Riverlands woman.

From my understanding of the show, the Lannister forces are something like this (and none of this is a spoiler because its all rather different than the books):

Tywin with 30k
Jaime with 30k (gone)
Casterly Rock ~5k (growing to raise a replacement host Jaime lost)
King's Landing ~2500 (Cercei's Lannister forces, Tyrions barbarians and the bought Gold Cloaks)
Mountain with 50-100

Tywin's forces are sitting at Harrenhall, staring down the main host of the Robb's forces. The Mountain is raiding the riverlands using Harrenhall as his base of operations.

Robb is raiding the Westerlands, which is where he is meeting this broad who is all "Clara Barton." We know its only a raiding party because the bulk of his bannermen are dealing with Jaime's escape and they are waiting for Robb to get back so they can kill Jaime. We can assume Robb's raiding party is larger than a few hundred men like the Mountain's (which is more a pillaging party). Robb has to have enough men to protect him and be able to force holds/castles to capitulate (The Crag).

At least this is what I think they are trying to paint, I could be wrong...

The mountain has been with tyrwn most of the season

But his forces have been separated from Tywin for most of Season 1 and even the beginning of Season 2. It wasnt until Tywin rode in and saved Gendry from the Mountain's men.

And they also reinforced the fact that the Mountain has a separate commission when Tywin gives him crap about eliminating "The Brotherhood" and the Mountain says "killing em aint hard, its finding em."

Is Game of Thrones the best show ever? I think so! Best part is that they already have the scripts for futures seasons! No shark jumps!!! (I hope).

They are squeezing too much of an 1100 page book into 10 50 minute shows.

Good (maybe great) show but I think I'm enjoying less after reading the books. (and I am far from a 'purist')

Great show once again! I loved the scene with Tyrion and Varys after Joffrey made his idiotic boasts and walked away (on top of the wall of King's Landing).

lots of build-up in this one again - should be a pretty incredible couple of shows to end the season. I can't wait until next week!

What is this? Did I miss something?

Regarding Roz: I didn't even recognize her with her hair crazy, clothes on, bruised face. Then when I read this thread it made sense, but I still didn't think about how/why they would have thought she was connected to Tyrion. I thought maybe Shae had given her trinkets away or sold something to someone. But this morning it crossed my mind.....did Tyrion give Roz the lion necklace (that Cersei mentioned) when he was at Winterfell with the prostitutes?

That was a tense scene by the way.....

+1 on the Varys/Tyrion scenes...both of them. I thought the scene at the table with Bron and Varys was hilarious.

I'm still confused by Jaime Lannisters whole set up. That seemed like such a stretch that Cat would send him south with the Giant Woman for an exchange. That REALLY dumb move just didn't fit with anything else going on around it or that Catelyn has done so far. Having not read the books, I would presume they've left out a lot of stuff leading up to that decision and just shoe horned it in there to keep the story line alive.

Quick side note: when Jaime Lannister mentioned that there were only 3 knights in the kingdom that could hang with him I started trying to figure out who he might be referring to...The Mountain? Ser Barriston? Anyone else stand out?

It may not have been the blue fork, but the river at the beginning of the episode looked awesome to me.

The Wikipedia recap says tyrion paid roz with the lion head necklace in winterfell.

Yeah, but don't forget that Catelyn watched Brienne beat up Sir Loras in the tournament. I believe that we are supposed to understand that Loras is a qualified badass knight. In fact, he's probably one of the few knights that Jaime was referencing when he said there were maybe a handful of knights in the whole realm that could even hold their own against him.
H.E. Pennypacker

Stive: The Hound

Loras is also a respected fighter, but he doesn't seem like the kind of Knight Jaime would respect. I have to figure Jaime would only give his two banner man and a childhood idol (Ser Barristan) that respect. He didn't even consider Ned Stark an equal in Season 1.

The books tell of all the great knights that have perished by this point in history. Not many left.
