How long do you want to ignore this user?
Robb is in the south, remember about 4 episodes ago when Robb's second in command, Roose Bolton, said "as a King it means you dont need to do everything personally, let me send a raven to my basturd son and he can retake Winterfell for you" (paraphrase)

We are the watchers on the wall.

Seeing Winterfell burned was sad but Castles can be rebuilt. Theon really never gained the trust of his men and should have just left with his sister. Plus seeing Khal Drogo and their son was awesome. Finally..... the walking dead and white walkers was an excellent way to end the season.

Did anyone else (non readers) find it odd that Stannis was not dead or captured?

The goodbye scene with the young lords and the keeper of Winterfeld was awesome... Plus the guy that plays Hodor does such a great job. Need more of the Direwolves.

What happened to all the troups that were surrounding Theon and his guys?

I was so hoping Arya would go to Bravos to continue her dancing lessons.

Poor Tyrion gets the short end of the stick again.

Loved Tywins horse taking a huge dump before that cerimony!

Can't decide if I want to go back & watch again from season 1 or start reading the books.

So Stannis was just sent kindly on his way after the seige on Westeros? I could have sworn in last week's episode they showed him getting captured and carried away kicking and screaming.

EDIT: Ok, so I'm not the only one, PooDoo noticed it too

Stannis was dragged away by his own men when it was apparent they had lost.

I like Stannis, glad to see it seems like he's going to be a major player again next season.

Those were his own men telling him to retreat. If they were Lannister he would have killed them....because he is a badass.

Anyone else get a little emotional when Luwin was dying?

Think that's the only time the show has gotten to me emotionally, and I read the books as well.

Watching on HBOGO with the extra features on the sidebar, they explained that the training he offered Arya is from a line of assassins called the Faceless Men (or something like that), and that they believed in a god of Many Faces. Sounds like it's a magical ability they have.

Not sure why but I never bought into her leaving. He was walking out the door and she was just standing there. So no surprise to me.

As a little bit of incentive for those of you who haven't read the books to read them over the next year, I was looking over George RR Martin's future speaking engagements and saw this:

Watching the little season recap video on HBOgo I realized this, I didn't catch that during the last episode.

I was also a bit confused, as others have mentioned, about what happened at Winterfell.

As a whole that was a really solid episode considering all the things they had to touch. Couple thoughts:

- Sansa may not be as dumb as we think, I did love her reaction after finding out she didn't have to marry Joffery and then her very interesting conversation with Littlefinger.

- I have a feeling the seemingly minor conversation with Varis and the prostitute who's name escapes me is going to have some interesting implications

- I'm really curious how things develop with Jon Snow and the Wildlings he's fallen in with

- Daenerys has dragons that actually do something...coooooool

- Brienne and those guys in the woods...daaaaaaaaaamn

- Didn't quite understand what the White Walkers were until the end of the episode but wow that throws a new kink into things

So confirm something for me (can't remember if it was referenced). One horn blast was for Rangers returning....two blasts was for wildlings.....3 blasts is for White Walkers?

Brianne is one bad *****. The look on Jamie's face said it all.

So, I'm guessing that Jaime will add her to the list of people in the kingdom that could hold their own with him (per the discussion on here a few days ago)

Impressive finale! Wrapped up some storylines and created some awesome new ones.

Some random thoughts:
-Now that Maester has sent Bran and Rickon North to the Wall, methinks they are going to have a very interesting storyline next season.

-I am looking forward to seeing J'aqen in future seasons and how he comes back to the story. (and I wonder what his reaction would have been if Arya had mentioned her Dancing Instructor's name - like would he have known him and been impressed or at least respected her start to training)

-WHITE WALKERS!!!! Awesome!!!! And the Night's watch is in trouble!!

-I was hoping to see who Mance Rader is.

-Don't mess with Khaleesi! Dumb-@$$ warlocks! I laughed as soon as she said "draconis" - Here comes the pain!

I don't think it was mentioned but that seemed to be the assumption as they went from ready to fight to flat out terrified.

And I forgot to mention but yeah, can't wait to see how Jaqen H'ghar turns up later. Man that guy is a great character.

Im pretty sure what happened at Winterfell will be revisited next season. It is tied (looks like) to a larger story in Season 3.

All we know is Robb sent Bolton's berstard to get Theo and bring him back to Robb. Robb told Bolton that any Greyjoy that surrenders can go free but Theon is to be captured and brought back to Robb. So if I was a betting man, I would say the burstard of Bolton is who was outside Winterfell. But why he would burn down Winterfell is unknown. Maybe the dudes crazy, or he has dragons of his own, or "he just likes to watch the wurld burn" /dark knight.

Or maybe theon's men burned down the city on their way out

That's what I think. They burned it and tried to escape in the confusion

I think the Greyjoy's burned it down on the way out. They knocked out Theon so they could just give him to the b-stard's army - which would guarantee them safe passage back to the iron isles (per Robb's orders). Theon's speech was actually good - them clocking him afterward was pretty funny.

Not sure why they burned Winterfell on the way out though. Seems kinda dewshy.

What makes you think the Ironborn will ever act honorably? They are brigands by blood, by trade and by lifestyle.

Agreed. For a minute I really thought he was going to lead them to a 300-style glory-fueled death to the Northerners outside. Really good speech and I really enjoyed Theon's character immensely this season compared to the first.

Them knocking him out right afterward was like the closest thing to slapstick you'll find in GoT haha

If the Ironborn did burn down Winterfell why didn’t any of Robbs bannermen stay to hold it? A burned down Winterfell is still Winterfell.

Most of questions coming from my group of friends revolves around that, so I assume that it will be addressed in S3 at some point.

Think that's the only time the show has gotten to me emotionally, and I read the books as well.

Same here...my wife was so pissed; she looked at me right after it happened and asked if I knew that was coming up (I did, I've read the books as well) and I waited to answer so my voice didn't crack like a little girl. First time I've really been hit by anything in the show like that.

I think they did an awesome, awesome job casting Maester Luwin which really added to the attachment most book-readers had with his character in the show.
