It's stupid for me to have to stop at a stop sign when there is no one in sight coming from either direction. It's also stupid for me to have to pay for and get a drivers license in order for me to drive a car I own, that also has to have a license plate on it, on roads that my taxes paid for. It's also stupid for me to have to pay a property tax on my home that I own in order for somebody else's children to go to school on my dollars. And the beat goes on and on and on and on...

The other factor Patrick did here was kill a billion dollar industry that supports small business owners & farmers, killed 60k jobs.

Hope it comes back to bite him in the ass.

How pray tell......they are no more irrelevant than arguing for or against pot use, legal or not. For those that use THC gummies in order to sleep, is it proper to give one to a 10 year old son who can't sleep?

THC and such sure seems to be a major deal to some folks. Not sure if there is some dependency, I have heard it isn't addictive though.

I am so glad that you guys get to hide behind the guise of mental illness which is a real thing that people receive real medicine for. I am a huge supporter of real meds for mental illness. It's something I know lots about unfortunately. Just come on and say it you like pot as your recreational drug of choice. It's just not legal. Let's make heroin legal too in the name of freedom. Hell let's all live like a mad max movie that's total freedom you know. My only thing I have against it is I know people who think they are medicating themselves well with pot. They are a wreck. I also hate how it smells I travel a lot and you can't enjoy yourself in lots of stars outside because of the smell of skunk. Unfortunately most people who use harder drugs also use pot. These people also usually have criminal issues. So I am gonna be ok with keeping it the way it has been in Texas since my family came over on a boat. Glad that you think I am a moron.

Exactly the same way Prohibition fixed the alcohol "problem." I'm sure it will work better this time.

It isn't, at least not chemically addictive like opioid and alcohol can be.

If you're for SB3, you should be in favor of banning alcohol sales. If you don't want to ban alcohol but are ok with SB3, you're either a hypocrite, intellectually dishonest, or just plain dumb. That's the initial question when debating this that everyone should ask themselves.

Who knew arguing with idiotic non sequiturs was so much fun!

I don't gamble, use tobacco, or visit strip clubs. But I don't think those things should be illegal just because I don't like them. Assuming you do partake in alcohol just admit you're a hypocrite so we can discuss this matter with all the cards on the table.

They could have taken the regulation route to "protect the children". Instead they chose to ban it for everyone including responsible adults. Most of whom are nowhere near everyday users or dependent. The complete ban was a last minute change before the house vote. The regulatory plan they had was nowhere near as overbearing and would have largely prevented access to people under 21. Empowering cartels won out.

Yeah it looks like someone tried to propose an amendment to the bill allowing the federally legal form of CBD with < .03% THC and these scumbags voted it down.

Full-spectrum CBD has been an absolute godsend for my anxiety-induced sleep issues. It has completely stopped by 4 am, panic, heart pounding wake-ups that would come out of nowhere.

Melatonin and other sleep aids make me groggy as hell, plus the dependency issues, SSRI's turn me into a zombie. I guess Mr Patrick wants me to drink myself to sleep every night.

Great.

Seriously, just stop, dude. You have absolutely no clue about what you're talking about.

Many people like myself use it to help us sleep. We aren't getting high all day or using it like a drug to escape reality. Being Bipolar 1, sleep is THE most important thing in my life. If I don't get sleep, I can spiral into a manic episode where I detach from reality and could ultimately lose my job and make terrible life-altering decisions in a poor state of mind.

You say you're ok with meds for mental illness. Guess what, in most cases, medications don't "fix" mental illness. They help with symptom management.

My psychiatrist and therapist ENCOURAGE my use of marijuana because they know how pivotal it is that I sleep.

Oh and I'm sorry you are so inconvenienced by the smell of marijuana. My god, that must be horrible for you. I'll keep you in my prayers for this traumatic experience you have to deal with.

I would say that good government responds to the public. The speed limit was 55. It's now 70+ in many places, in large part in response to what people want. Car inspections have gone away. And so on.

Our current band of idiots in Austin aren't responding to the will of the people they represent. This vote on THC. The school choice bill that is lukewarm at best. Punting on public education funding after promising to address it after a voucher bill passed. And so on.

Let's hope the public wakes up and votes out these folks who ignore their constituents.

I travel way way more than you. I would bet any amount of money on that and weed has never ever ruined an outing. I have lived in three states where it was legal and it never impacted me.

You need to think a little deeper on this one. There is a little more to it than the words written. Consider the word rationalization and it's definition. Alot of it going on in here.

You do realize your can't buy pot at a CBD store. Because they don't sell it. They sell gummies and powders and creams, and candles. Nobody decrying this legislation is going to stop smoking pot because it is already illegal and this bill does nothing to change that.

In fact, after this bill passed they'll most likely be even more people out smoking pot, since some will just go back to the drug dealers since the legislature has decided to make a non-offensive public product, illegal.
I don't care where you buy your pot. That's between you and your dealer.

Lots of morons talking about this, including Patrick.

Can we still just buy out of state for ship to home? I wish everyone that was worried about how others live would **** off and die. That includes people worried about gays, abortions, and anything else they need to keep their damn nose out of.

I assume we can just order online kinda like how I can't buy emission defeating stuff here but I can ship it in form Canada. If not, I need to order a ton of stuff and see about selling on the side. Seems like a good money maker.

It's okay though. Mr. Patrick have me a good idea. I'll keep a handle of Evan at the bedside so when I get woken up to my heart pounding at 160 bpm at 4am I can just take few pulls.

Why tf does the law need be made stricter? Products like D8 that are highly regulated are infinitely safer than the illegal crap thats coming over the border.

For the party of freedom they certainly do love telling people how to live their lives
