Clock is ticking. Abbott has until Sunday to take action via veto or signing into law, or not do anything and let this become a law. My feeling is Abbott doesn't do anything.
And I'll happily vote against him in any primary as I will basically become a criminal to continue getting it for my dad so he doesn't have to take ****ing opiods.
Why hasn't your dad joined TCUP? It's $100 a year and he can buy whatever gummies he wants if this passes.

He shouldn't have to, but he has legal options

My dad is a recovering alcoholic that hasn't had a drink in 40 years. Don't think he'd sign on for that one.

It's amazing how many people voted FOR Abbott in the primary last year because they were worried he is the only one that could beat the D nominee in the general. Pretty much his entire tenure and the covid era along with now his lack of urgency to veto this bill, if he does at all, is just another example of how he is a "me first" politician and does not care to advocate for conservative values.

Hopefully this wakes people up and they start rolling the dice on new blood in the primaries rather than sticking with the same old same old that gets us nowhere.

Either way, the TX legislature is hot garbage for even letting us get to this point with this bill.

It didn't take Desantis very long to veto a comparable bill in Florida. But Desantis is a real leader with vision, and Abbott is no Desantis.

is this supposed to some sort of defense of Abbott? Situations were similar, Desantis vetoed it. You can enlighten us about the differences if you'd like.

The situation is that our elected leadership is less keen on freedom and business. Unless you count being in the prescription drug lobby's pocket as pro business

It's funny how when a politician does something we like he's a real leader with vision but when the same guy does something that goes against our grain he's the dumbo of all dumbos...

It's easier at the state level. Especially here in TX where a RINO gov is pretty well guaranteed (for now). There isn't the same tribalism, and this thread is an obvious example. Posters can pile on Abbott without being called a commie leftist.

It's an interesting study in psychology and politics.

I'll just drive to Oklahoma to get mine or order it online. I feel bad for all the older folks who use CBD who don't have the access to drive to get it or the acumen to order it online.

Well that and the tens of thousands of Texans that will lose their jobs all because some Bible beaters and fatties guzzling cheap beer think their vice is better than yours.

My understanding if this ban goes through Texas will also ban it being mailed into Texas.

Charpie, what's the word around the Capitol? You seemed pretty confident. Now it's feeling exactly like most suspected. Greg will just create media to show compassion and do nothing. Sure hope we get a late veto but I don't see it.

It does, which ends up only punishing responsible people and putting people at risk. Some people like me will just go without. Others will get their hands on unreliable product

And kids will have easier access when it's black market because they certainly weren't getting it from a legal establishment. Dumb ass old lesbian looking Dan Patrick.

I don't know about his political career being over but I can say that I've never voted for a democrat. I have voted for libertarian candidates, but 99% of the time I've voted republican, and I won't vote for him again if he doesn't veto.

Dude was a big enough ***** during Covid. Needed desantis to show him the way on personal freedom and responsibility. Allowing Dan Patrick to push this through would be my final straw with Abbott.

Novel concept of letting adults do what they want with their bodies if it doesn't affect other people. I say this as someone who's smoked weed maybe 5 times in his life and much prefers booze.

What's the same level studies on alcohol and tobacco vs non users? And trans fats? And processed foods? I'll hang up and take my answer off the air.
