And to the poster that keeps touting TCUP as a solution, a diagnosis going on your medical chart can be damaging in a number of ways. That life insurance policy, that security clearance, that health check for your job, that messy child custody case. All can be an issue. People shouldn't need a diagnosis to make the adult choice to consume delta 8 and 9. Your suggestion is playing right into the hands of shady people like this

People have become very lazy about protecting their own inalienable rights, or alternatively, throwing away those of others just based on the fact that the particular issue does not impact them. It's all over this thread. Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness, freedom of conscience. Some seem to enjoy trying to spike the football on others for no reason other than they want to spike the football. It's pathetic

The ban is dumb, but TCUP is your slightly more "legal" option in Texas should the ban pass.

Which is worse and more likely to get caught? Lying on a 4473 about marijuana use or buying D8/D9/THCA from out of state or stocking up before the ban? Buying from out of state is a misdemeanor under this law. If you stock up, and some nimby finds out, now you likely have a distribution charge.

You also have to believe businesses will continue to ship illegal products to Texas. I've seen this in the firearms industry when i was an FFL. There were things I just wouldn't ship to CA because I'm not taking that risk for someone else. Expect the same with D8.

I just think you're more likely to get caught by state LE for having/importing D8 than by federal LE for being deceptive on a 4473. There's certainly downsides to TCUP but going "rogue" has lots of downsides too if you get caught.

Most people want to buy these products from reliable, reputable companies. Many/most companies like that are not going to risk breaking state law. It's a choice no one should have to make though

Interesting how some will bemoan all things California from their church pew, while at the same time they now want to see "Not Available for Shipping to Texas" labels on things that are available in most/all other states. Ironic ignorance at its finest.

Never even had a remotely good challenger. Might change after this.

That is the biggest problem in Texas, and really in the entire country on all levels. These crappy elected officials get dug in like a tick. Few will dare to challenge them, and only a tiny number of those challengers have any real chance to win.

The problem with someone like the Lt. Governor, usually a challenger is going to be a tick so the status quo remains.

Had another Republican ran against him I would have voted against Patrick. So I didn't cast a ballot for him when I voted. I did vote for Abbott.

Need some Republicans to challenge these guys like Patrick cause just can't vote for a Democrat.

I will never vote for DP Dan again. Didn't vote for him in his last election.

Doesn't mean I'll vote for a Democrat, I've never voted for one before but if the right person came along, maybe.

I'm not one of those who feels leaving a box unchecked on my ballot is a mortal sin.
