All this talk about Paxton is window dressing to the real crux of the issue, which is VERY simple.

A vote for Talarico is a vote for the Democratic party, which has devolved into the party of Communism/Socialism and we all know where that leads. If you decide to sit out or vote 3rd party you're also voting for Communism indirectly.

all this talk about gay communist heretics is window dressing to the actual crux of the issue, which is even simpler.

trump has turned the government into a kleptocracy for his family and their cadre of epstein class oligarchs, and put a bunch of 4chan trolls and charlatans in charge. all while dragging the rest of us down with new wars and tariffs no one asked for. a vote for paxton is a vote for yet another MAGA stooge to serve as a trump's doormat as he drags us down with him. feckless as congress is, republicans have shown they cannot be trusted to steward it through the rest of his term.

That, of course, is the nightmare scenario for Texas Democrats, and not just among black voters. In the 2024 election, black voters were 11% of the overall electorate, but Hispanic voters were 26% of the turnout. Having Crockett cast the party as racist in its execution in its US Senate primary sends a message of disengagement to both demos, although clearly more to black voters than Hispanics. Crockett has been one of the more notable figures in the party, and certainly its most visible black woman even up to today and her claims that she got shafted over race will resonate, especially on the Left where activists are particularly sensitive to such allegations.

Meanwhile...

We know dude, we know.

When I see stuff like this, sometimes I think Talarico has to be a Republican plant. He is so bad and out of touch with the mainstream that Paxton doesn't even have to campaign much. Just let the snake oil salesman's own words do the talking.

The Democrats have to be sick. Once in a generation chance at a competitive race for a statewide office, and they nominate this guy. What a massive blunder on the part of the state Democratic Party.

This guy gets it. Paxton is running a campaign of a rich, entitled frat boy.

" I really don't care about Ken Paxton's personal life. I don't know much about it. What concerns me is on his website I can't find any upcoming campaign events. I DO NOT want Talarico to win in my home state. Paxton should be on the ground, doing local media, making the case every day to voters. I can't find ANY upcoming campaign events to meet or greet him, no rallies, nothing. All I can find is an upcoming fundraiser on July 22. Paxton won the runoff six weeks ago. It's time to put together a robust calendar of events.

When you go to the Events tab on Talarico's website, it is chock full of activities for supporters and the candidate alike. Though we've never met, Ken follows me and will hopefully course correct. As of right now, Paxton is not running away with this election. It's tight on the margins. November 3 will be here fast. Every day counts in a campaign. And Talarico has major cash on hand."

Yes, Paxton seems to be ignoring the lessons from the Cruz - Beto race and working even less than Cruz to define his opponent and/or get our in front of the people. They may have the strategy that he is not likeable so best to not put him out there much. But, at least be on the air defining your opponent.

NY Times poll indicated that Paxton is losing the Hispanic vote, a problem Cruz did not have. It's not going to go well for the Republicans at the current trajectory.

To use your term of '"charlatans in charge" ….. you must have forgotten the top flight cast of minstrels from the last administration:

  • Secretary of State: Antony Blinken (Burisma, the Hunter Biden laptop, etc.)
  • Secretary of the Treasury: Janet Yellen (Inflation is transitory)
  • Secretary of Defense: Lloyd Austin (The great disappearing Sec DEF)
  • Attorney General: Merrick Garland (among the most feckless AGs in American history)
  • Secretary of Health and Human Services: Xavier Becerra (Mr. Missing children himself)
  • Secretary of Transportation: Pete Buttigieg (performative and perpetually inept Mayor Pete)
  • Secretary of Energy: Jennifer Granholm (HATCH Act. & stock ownership violations)
  • Secretary of Homeland Security: Alejandro Mayorkas (Impeached & disgraced - "The boarder is secure")

  • Watch out, you're just asking for a "whataboutism" rebuttal which never addresses the ridiculous cabinet peepaw (or likely Obama) put together but also won't explain why s/he would vote for a Democrat who would put together an even worse cabinet in 2028 (forget DEI, think full-blown communism with DEI as an added bonus!).

I used to think that way back when AOC burst on the scene, thinking she HAD to be a plant. Nobody is that obtuse and unintelligent. Well my theory was 100% wrong and the Dems keep finding more and more candidates that actually make AOC look moderate...it's quite remarkable.

Exactly. Everyone is on vacation and not watching anything on TV except the World Cup and they dont have political ads. When football starts, the ads will come fast and furious. Those ads for Paxton will be the feminine fruitcake in his own words and they will lead to a double digit win.

I'll forgive a little of the oligarchy.

When the Trump admin ends, every actor within will be sued, harassed, and even have their lives threatened. They will need a load of $$$ cash to defend themselves for the remainder of their lives.

In short, I blame the evil banana republic ways of the democrats for lowering the bar on corruption by making it necessary for suvival, just like it is in Venezuela.

This is the left's plan. Make running for office as a conservative too expensive and dangerous to do. The idea is to ensure that they run off the best candidates who don't want their lives and their family's lives ruined.

    Oldie, but a goodie........

Attorney General Ken Paxton secured a Temporary Injunction against Global Fiberglass Solutions, Inc. and other affiliated entities to protect Texans and their land. The legal victory stops the defendants from accepting shipments of wind turbine blades and forces them to begin the clean up of two facilities in Sweetwater, Texas, where thousands of discarded turbine blades have been illegally stockpiled.
So much for "clean" energy. Thank you Ken Paxton for continuing to fight for Texas.
