I was not impressed with DJ unfortunately. He can still be a great defender so I wonder if there a lineup that works with him.

They have to turn him into Bruce Bowen on offense. I think that's best case unfortunately. He can push it in transition when he can but a decision maker and finisher he is not.

I got to watch about half the 3rd quarter and the 4th last night. I liked the defensive potential I saw from Vassel. He's long and covers a ton of space, reads passing lanes well and was able to get some steals. Solid game all around from him.

I really liked the 5 out spacing and how our offense operated. We shot 38 threes. Even Eubanks attempted a 3 (although idk how much of that I want to see). We still have holes defensively. What little I saw if Demar he was awful on that end. We were able to switch much more on the perimeter, but had too many guys get lost and give up open threes.

Kirk Goldsberry (former Spurs front office guy) said on a recent podcast that the Spurs were in Kawhi trade talks with Toronto for quite a long time, long before the those Vegas odds were on Toronto. They were always going to be the trade partner. Amazing that both franchises were able to keep any leaks from happening.

That's exactly what I've been saying. He needs to be transformed into a 3&D player. He can't even be a 6th man type role. He's lucky he got the contract he did.

Vassell is going to get good minutes as a rookie. He isn't scared. He's plays defense has good overall offensive skill and IQ. I can't wait to see him with Keldon and Derek back in action.

Keldon and Derrick are at least a few weeks away from returning BTW. This team might get in a hole very quickly to begin the season.

Thats a little dramatic. Murray is a sevicable PG. Besides, many times somebody else would be initiating a play anyway, namely either Derozan or Walker. Then you have Patty coming off the bench.

If he can't score (like tonight), then he is a liability. But it's not like the Spurs have alot of options at PF. I don't think playing Lyles 36 minutes a night is a recipe for success.

Hey everybody! I'm a little late to the party this year but at least I got in before the first regular season game. I see some of you are in mid-season form of judging players on a short training camp and a couple of pre-season games.

Realistically, I think this team will be fun to watch before the year is over but may have some growing pains especially if Derrick and Keldon can't go at the beginning. I hope we make the playoffs but more importantly, I hope these young guys continue to show growth. We have the players to become an elite defensive team and hopefully compete for a championship soon!

Luke Kennard just got $64 million/4 yrs. Guess that means Derrick should get a max extension.

Derrick's decision coming down to the wire. If I'm not mistaken, a good number of teams have cap room next offseason when there won't be a ton of big names (most of signed extensions). Would hate to bid against a dumbass like Dolan. Something like $80 million/4 yrs. seems about right for White.
