I'm a Spurs fan, and a Lebron fan so I've been a fan of whatever franchise he's with.

With that said, the media is stating that SA and LA are considering a Kuzma/Green for DeRozan trade?

I don't see any incentive for the Spurs to make that trade. So effectively kawhi = Keldon, Poeltl and Kuzma. Yikes.

Maybe, but declaring a kid that we knew was going to be a project a bust after one shortened G League season puts you in mookie territory.

To me it's a bust if he doesn't pan out because there were more sure fire options we could have taken. I saw him play in Austin. Terrible body language. He has zero edge and doesn't do one thing particularly well. I think he went gangbusters in one draft workout for the spurs so we decided to take a swing. Maybe bust isn't the right word for some but a disappointment for sure.


I'm not ready to write him off just yet. Now if he doesn't make some big steps this coming season, it'll not be a very good look for his future.

Luka looked to me like he needed a tremendous amount of physical development. I.e. he just needed to mature, eat, and hit the weight room. His raw basketball talent and length showed promise. But I haven't seen a Spurs rookie look that frail since 17 year old Tony Parker.

So for me he gets a year or two of grace. I won't be ready to call him a bust for a while. It would be great for him to show some signs this year though.

I believe the moratorium lifts at 12:01am on Monday. Flood gates should open. Will be interesting to see how many draft positions change. We won't see one like this for a while.

Interesting he's so open about this while he's still on the Spurs, but I don't blame him. I'd hope we could get more than Kuzma and Danny in return though.

Been seeing rumors of a 3 team deal (GSW and Atl), that would send LMA and the #6 to GSW, DD and #11 to Atl, #2 Wiggins and one of the Hawks young guys like Huerter to the Spurs.

Don't think this deal happens specifically. But there is too much smoke for something NOT to happen at this point though. Which has me excited

Klay was Pop's other target in the 2011 draft. He was gone, so we took Kawhi.

Zero chance GSW gives up Klay for anything we have to give.

I actually like that because it maximizes the value of Derozan and Aldridge. Separately isn't going to fetch us much given their age and expiring contracts.

If spurs really want #2 it's gotta be for Wiseman, given the Spurs need for the position and the fact that they wouldn't draft Ball or Edwards imo. Wiseman is also a fan of Duncan and Robinson.

Yeah. I am all for that. Too bad we don't have enough to get John Collins from them. Heuter is fine, but Wiggins and Hueter are both wings.

Do we trust Pop not to take a foreign player? If we go that direction, we probably need to take Wiseman or Okongwu.

I don't hate this. I was a big Huerter fan when he was coming out of the draft a couple years ago. I still don't love Wiggins, but something's gotta make the salaries match up.

It may be my own personal bias, but I think the Spurs are looking to move up to pick Deni Avdija. He checks off a lot of boxes for us, we've scouted him, and there's no way he falls past #5 which is why we're trying to get up to #2. Maybe Wiseman, but even the really good big men in the league don't carry their teams they way they did 10-15 years ago. It's all about perimeter play.

I guess the hard part about dealing Derozan is that he has leverage because he has to opt in/do a s&t. I could see the spurs doing the LA trade if LA throws in their first rounder (28th). Then maybe the spurs could use that with the 11th and LMA to trade up with GSW. I'd be surprised if the Warriors don't receive a better offer than that though.

Or the Spurs can use the 28th themselves and take a chance with someone like Jaden Mcdaniels.

I kind of feel that this has corrected itself as of late with the success of AD and Bam. Wiseman would need to improve defensively on the switch though for sure. Okongwu would better fit that mold.

Wait, so you can trade players before they have to opt in or out? Usually the opt-in period is over in June and trades start in July so that a player doesn't opt out after being traded.

Do the Demar to Atl/LMA to GSW and we shave off decent amount of salary. Hopefully trade Patty for picks.

Take Wiseman at 2 (about 7mm).

Might have enough to make a little run at Serge Ibaka. He just turned 31 (allegedly) and hit 38% from three last year with 15/8.
