DJ gets a friend. And maybe a play to sign Chriss to a veteran minimum 'aww what the hell' contract post injury. Maybe DJ finds a roll guy he has chemistry with. That's all i can think of.

Stan Albeck passed away at 89. He was the coach for the Spurs when I graduated from High School in 1982 when George Gervin was in his prime. Went to the Western Conference finals 3 straight years but could quite make it to the promised land.

That's been revised down to less than $2.5 million, didn't do us much of a favor on the way out the door.

But I'm sure there will be some glowing offseason article in the Excuse for News about the bromance between Pop and LaMarcus and how we did him a solid because we're the Spurs and that's how we roll.

The bottom line is nobody was going to give up anything of value for LMA. It sucks because I felt he could play a solid bench role for the rest of this season and prove he can still play. Instead he just sat and the value continued to diminish. Now he's going to play somewhere else and guess what? He's not going to start and he's not going to get a big deal as a FA.

Pop could have gotten to 1,300 sooner if it wasn't for 3 seasons where they didn't play the full 82 games schedule.

1999 - played 50 games
2011-12 - played 66 games
2019-20 - played 71 games

That's 59 games they didn't play. I would say he at least wins 30 games of the 59 if they were to play.
