Might be an over reaction but when you see how much we are going to clear from LMA's contract versus how much he has contributed to open the season makes me think we have a lot to offer to a free agent next summer.

John Collins and Lauri Markannen are a couple young bigs that will be free agents that I think would fit our offense well. Defensively, I'm not so sure but we're not exactly a hot bed for big name free agents.

BY signing White to his extension now rather than after using our cap space next summer, we lost about 10mm in cap space, which could have been two max players. But realistically, the Spurs aren't the destination for two max FAs.

Beastly. Zion is gonna have to develop at least a midrange game or teams will continue to collapse on him.
I'm way out of market and have been out of it so far this season (granted I never pay attention until at least Christmas anyways!). What's the prognosis?
Spurs are looking better than expected but there are 11 other teams with chances of making the playoffs (OKC, MEM, and MIN have no chance). A lot of sure fire playoff contenders have losing records right now. It will be a fun year of ups and downs with , hopefully,further development for our group. But realistically, I see a playoff playin position as best case scenario. The west is just so tough.
The west is so tough. I think the Spurs will make the playoffs but I know that may be wishful thinking more than reality. I do like what I am seeing from the young players, especially Keldon. Spurs cut it to 5 then the Lakers get a 5 point possession to end the half. We missed a lot of layups and open shots too. It sucks it takes a Pop ejection to get the officials' attention.

Hot take time: the lakers are really good.
But on a serious note, I was very impressed with how our young guys played tonight. Attacked relentlessly and we were able to hang around. LA is so deep that this was the first game where we didn't have an obvious bench advantage. Also wtf with Wes Matthews going 6/6 from 3. Our defense wasn't great, but they shot lights out. How about the start of the season that Dejounte is having?!? Another outstanding game from him tonight.

DeJounte played great tonight. He still needs to be a bit more disciplined down the stretch but he really kept us within striking distance in the second half.

Totally agree with this. But our guys didn't quit and kept it relatively close til the end. It did hurt that LA didn't play and Jacob got in foul trouble early. I like Eubanks but there is a reason he is 3rd string.Enzo The Baker said:

Wes Matthews was 0-8 from 3 before yesterday's game. There always seems to be a streaky Monta type player that burns the Spurs.
Derrick White will be back tomorrow. It will be interesting to see who's minutes he takes (and the lineup combinations in general).
Unfortunately I think most will to be at the expense of Vassell's 14 mins. I think Poeltl and Aldridge will man the 5 (no mins to Lyles). Right now DeMar/DJ/Walker are playing 30+ mins. You can dial down their mins, especially DeMar with Derrick's playmaking ability.Maybe Patty takes on a lesser role. I don't see Rudy's mins decreasing much. I also think Johnson's defensive versatility is too valuable to decrease his mins anymore. It's a good problem to have but I think it will take a while to find that right rotations.
What's the best way to watch the Spurs? Now that YouTube tv cut fssw, I can't watch any games. Am I missing something?

We played Rudy at the 5 last year in the bubble some. Strong offensive lineup with lots of spacing, but certainly will struggle against big lineups defensively and rebounding. Jakob and Eubanks were both terrible on the offensive end of the floor tonight.
It was nice to have Derrick back. He's a real difference maker on the defensive end and still looked solid on O. There were a few possessions where it looked like he hadn't played and the timing was off, but overall it was encouraging.
