It's draft day ladies and gentlemen. Put your predictions in for what happens 1-10. Here's mine:

1) Washington - Dybantsa (but I am 51/49 Dybantsa over Peterson, so wouldn't shock me if they go that route either)

2) Utah - Peterson

3) Memphis - Boozer (I'd take Wilson if I were Memphis because he's got the most upside and fits the cities mentality)

4) Chicago - Wilson

5) LA Clippers - Wagler (I am not committed to this at all because I don't think Wagler really fits their timeline at all)

6) Brooklyn - Mikel Brown Jr.

7) Sacramento - Acuff

8) Atlanta - Flemings

9) Dallas - Burries (just don't see a trade down at the moment)

10) Milwaukee - Nate Ament (all of the upper tier guards are gone; they don't need Mara now with Ware; so they take highest upside available)

Would love to be wrong on a few of these!

The Bulls are the most incompetent FO of the top 4 and also have the weirdest roster with so many Fs, I wouldn't rule out them doing something stupid if AJ and Peterson are gone (like taking Nate Ament or something lol).

Likeliest scenario seems to be we end up with Burries, which I would be fine with as long as we didn't pass on Wagler, Flemings, or Brown. I think Burries is good and he plays a role that will help us immediately.

At 30 I'm hoping we end up with Zuby, Joshua Jefferson, or Isaiah Evans.

Flemings is the guy I'm warming up to quickly. Just don't know if I'd be okay with passing on the overall upside and immediate point of attack defense. I love Burries, but he's without a doubt the lower ceiling guy. We will see!

Yeah I love Flemings. He's going to be awesome. I think he fits Atlanta perfectly and they'd by stupid to pass on him.

They can address center by trading Gafford to us for 23. Would love that.

I think there's a solid chance the Mavs have another pick in the late teens or early 20s tonight based on the reporting and the guys they are trying to trade.

Also worth noting the Jaylen Brown-Boston situation seems untenable and he could be traded to Atlanta for number 8. Maybe Boston would take Mara or Morez Johnson since they are hurting for bigs.

New Orleans could trade Murphy to Atlanta for pick number 8 and NO just took Fears last year. Burries would actually be a decent fit there.

Hawks adding Flemings and Gafford in addition to getting Aaron Wiggins for free would make them a pretty sick team.

haha if it makes you feel better, his salary would rank 106th (between Grayson Allen and Keldon Johnson) of all active players last season. Seems high, but is pretty reasonable in perspective.

I think Brown makes sense for a couple of contending teams if the Celtics are serious about moving him, he makes no sense for a team like the Mavs.

Also if the Celtics trade him they'll want 3 premium picks and legit rotation pieces. My guess is that he doesn't move and moody Jaylen Brown pouts all next year.

Aday Mara | 7-3 big | 21 years old | Michigan
With Dusty May finalizing a deal as the Mavericks' new coach, league sources speculated about which Michigan player could follow him, as Morez Johnson, Yaxel Lendeborg and Mara are realistic options at No. 9. I got Johnson's name a lot early on, but league sources are now moving more toward Mara as the most likely option if they go this direction due to the desire to shore up the center position. Additionally, a few league sources noted that general manager Mike Schmitz was a big part of drafting Yang Hansen in Portland last season and loves bigs who can really pass the ball.
League sources have recently brought up Mara's conditioning more regularly, wondering if he'll be more than a 25-minute-per-game guy at his peak. Michigan did an excellent job utilizing him in short stints to keep him fresh, allowing him to be at his best throughout the season. Coaches won't be as excited about that luxury in the uptempo NBA, but May knows him better than anyone and would be able to figure this out.

The NBA's protections on draft pick trades, swaps, etc is out of control. Someone is sure to get effed due to an administrative oversight at some point. Just chaos to figure out what these might even be worth

I think Jovic has some back problems. Not sure if that is true or not, but I know his 4th year after getting his extension was awful. His 3rd was really promising.

Honestly did not realize he's played in so few games and that he is around $16 million for each of the next 4 years. He's impactful when he's on the court though.

I do get it from the Mavs' perspective. Just a swing on a guy who has shown lots of potential and is still just 23 years old. Could be a semi-albatross of a contract though if he isn't healthy.

Ament is an interesting upside play, but seems to have a pretty high bust potential and definitely not a guy who will be good next year. He is too weak for the NBA right now and needs a couple of years. I would still be on the best guard available (Burries, Wagler, Flemings).
