He's a freak, but I also still think he's going to have trouble staying healthy
He might, but he's also been doing flexibility stuff since before puberty. In three years, the only basketball injuries he has had is a mild pulled calf and a bone bruise on his knee. Not putting on weight should benefit him, because a lot of the problems that plagued other ultra-tall players have been exasperated by being so heavy, too. Being lighter certainly takes pressure off the feet, ankles and knees.
If you are going to look at 7'2+ players, the longevity history certainly isn't great, but the model of it is Kareem, who stayed lean and worked on yoga and karate while playing to stay flexible and avoid injury. Wemby's been doing the same stuff forever. The only time Kareem ever missed games was when he broke his hand punching Kent Benson.
Nothing is a given, but it makes a lot more sense than trying to muscle up like Giannis did, even though the biggest complaint with the Spurs fans is that Wemby gets pushed around a lot. I think staying lean and limber is the key, and hope that something freak never happens.

Back to the Mavs, I love watching Cooper play and I 100% think the Mavs are in a better place now going forward with Cooper than they would have been if Luka had stayed. Hope y'all get Peterson in the lottery.
