Raptors just offloaded Agbaji for CP3. Saves them about $3 million. They are maneuvering for something else.

Never liked CP3 but what a way to end a career. Toronto is telling him not to show up as they are likely moving him somewhere else.

You should have retired last year with the Spurs. Spurs did right by him by letting him start even after they traded for Fox. He had a decent year statistically.
He's just too grading as a person for most teams to want him on their team. Too big of a distraction
BREAKING: The Dallas Mavericks are expected to rehire Nico Harrison with the intention of firing him again shortly after.

In talks between the teams this week, league sources say, Dallas has sought a first-round pick and Atlanta has countered with second-round compensation. The financial urgency for the Mavericks to make a move has passed now that they've made their Anthony Davis trade. https://t.co/Hcvb8Ezkfy

Kyrie should reach out to Luka. Plant the seeds. The Mavericks own the Lakers' pick in 2029. Luka can opt out in 2028. Dallas is set up for long-term success and will likely have the cap space to bring Luka home. The Lakers are sitting on their ass with a bad roster. It's destiny

The Hawks have now moved on by making a much more cost-effective move for a big man by agreeing to acquire Jock Landale in the three-team deal with Utah and Cleveland that sends Lonzo Ball to the Jazz. https://t.co/xrt1tKAv4K

Mavs updated return for Luka Doncic:
- Max Christie
- Khris Middleton
- AJ Johnson
- Malaki Branham
- Marvin Bagley
- OKC 2026 first-round pick
- LAL 2029 first-round pick
- GSW 2030 first-round pick (protected)
- 3 future second-round picks
Intellectually dishonest to not include Flagg in any of these, IMO. Mavs don't have Flagg if they don't trade Luka.
The Mavericks were deep in the tax and over the second apron for next season.

They get under those thresholds save $200 million in 2026-27.
They won't have cap space, but they can use their newly created $20.8 million and $6 million trade exceptions, and $15 million mid-level. https://t.co/9n680dXB3L pic.twitter.com/BpQkGWxRSj

That's fine. But it's entirely missing context if you don't mention Flagg. AD probably isn't traded for a high number of not great picks and roster flexibility if Flagg isn't on the team looking like a future MVP candidate.
You have to assess based upon differences caused by decision making. The perception of trading Luka by those that made the decision to do it was that it would make the team immediately better. It ultimately made the team immediately worse.Vessel said:

First, they wouldn't have been in the lottery if they didn't trade Luka.
Second, they wouldn't be flipping AD for even less if they didn't win the lottery and get the gift of a longer horizon.
People are going to be masochists and point out the direct pieces that Luka became… But that just misses a substantial piece of the puzzle, in my opinion.
