We do this every year. League year hasn't started yet so all trades are just agreed upon and not official by league standards.

One thing is for certain, they're going to need to spend every available dollar and trade exception on legit shooters. Damn near going to have a Texas Tech open tryout for who can reliably put the ball in the bucket from beyond three. And Gafford is 100% gone.

I was thinking Gaff. I like Johnson as a backup 5 in the league.

If we can trade Gaff for another mid-1st pick and walk away with someone like Stirtz, Okorie, or Anderson, then you can see the vision.


Want to clarify this. I see Morez as a 5 in the league. We have Dereck Lively. Therefore I see him as the Dallas Mavericks' backup 5.

Didn't mean to imply I see his upside as a backup 5.

Heard from a guy tied in with agents that Mavs like Richie Saunders. Fits the bill perfectly of what the team needs and probably would instant replace Klay (assuming he's able to return from his knee at some point).

I love him as an early second rounder. Hope we don't use 30 on him if certain guys are there. But if we can buy 36ish, then I'd love it.

It's so weird that all these teams know how unlikely it is to acquire talent in the 2nd round, yet they still treat the accumulation of 2nd rounders as valuable.

The 2nd round is more of a negotiation now, so maybe more valuable than back in the days. But scouting as a whole is so much better than decades ago, hard to get superstars like Joker there.
