Yeah, I think we need a physical guy like Peat, but I don't think we need Peat as much as we need shooting.
All the PFs on the board this year have warts.
- Yaxel is older than Paolo Banchero and is shooting ~30% from three.
- Hannes is probably a center, not a PF and has low volume on shooting
- Haugh is shooting under 34% from three, is 23yo and is only 215lbs.
- Peat can't shoot
- Lopez is shooting about 33% and doesn't have a single elite skill
- Quaintance is injured and can't shoot
- Cenac is at 33% from three (and falling) and has questions about his motor
- Joshua Jefferson probably isn't quick enough to play PF.
- Amari Allen is a SF that weighs 205.
- Ament is a skinny SF and shooting 41/32.
With Lopez being ~225lbs and just 18yo, I can talk myself into him as a future 240lb PF with some dribbling, defense, and shooting. But do we want a guy that is going to be a project when we have a project in Carter? Lot of question marks with Lopez, but I think he comes closest to checking the boxes we need with size, strength, shooting, and connectivity.
But I can also see trading back and taking a smaller wing like Amari Allen or Cameron Carr who are better pure shooters.
What if we could grab an extra pick from Toronto to move back to 20 and still be able to get Allen, Carr, or Lopez and they move up so they can get Ngongba? Memphis has the Magic pick this year and maybe they want to move up to get Jayden Quintance to replace JJJ. Hawks have the Cleveland pick and I wouldn't mind abusing Midlanta for more assets.
