Spurs have 2 days off before the Knicks on Sunday.

Keep Victor in his room with a few good books.

OKC plays the Nuggets next.
If Denver wins, the Spurs and Thunder will be tied in the loss column, 16 each.
That's crazy that this late in the season, they would be that close to the 1 seed.

On another note, the Lakers are only 1 spot away from the play-in.

We also signed Plumdog for the rest of the year.

Plum can replace Bismack and we cut Bismack and sign Khris to replace Sochan

Man. I know Bismack is ass but I feel like he brings a connectivity to this locker room.

Interesting that Denver is on the list. They have so many wings.

Spurs can keep him in the locker room, though. They did with Gorgui Dieng by making him Basketball Operations Representative.

I think Denver wants Khris because Cam, Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson can't stay healthy.

Could also bounce Olynyk for Khris.

Yeah, but even with how washed he is, I think Olynyk is still better at basically everything than Biyumbo.

We could also just dump Lindy Waters. I'd keep Olynyk over Waters, too.

I like Waters as a 'break in case of emergency' 3 point shooter. As you said, Bismack would be the guy.

Theoretically, but he is at 34% on the year, I think McLovin is going to get the minutes first. He's our 14th guy and Bismack is our 15th. Makes more sense to dump Bismack and add Khris.

Wemby - Kornet - PlumDog
Julian - Khris - Olynyk
Vassell - Barnes - Bryant
Castle - Keldon - Waters
Fox - Harper - McLovin

I would love if we could get Sacramento to buyout Dougie McBuckets to replace Waters.

Unfortunately the thunder won in OT vs Denver. It looks like it got pretty sporty with Dort ejected for throwing a cheap shot on Jokic.

I hope those two teams beat the hell out of each other for a playoff series prior to playing the Spurs.

OKC, Denver, and Minnesota being on the other side of the bracket is the best thing for the Spurs.

Best case scenario:
  • 1 Spurs vs 8 Bums
  • 4 Rockets vs 5 Lakers
  • 2 OKC vs 7 Bums
  • 3 Denver vs 6 Minn
Second best case scenario:
  • 1 OKC vs 8 Bums
  • 4 Denver vs 5 Wolves
  • 2 Spurs vs 7 Bums
  • 3 Rockets vs 6 Lakers
Denver has Joker, but their defense is exploitable, especially in the paint. I think we matchup really well with OKC, but very poorly with Minnesota. Rockets and Lakers are both exploitable in the playoffs. Rockets blew it by not replacing FVV and Adams. Lakers have no defense and no chemistry. Don't really want to play Phoenix (Grayson/Dillon) or Golden State (Draymond) due to dirty plays and cheap shots when we boat race them.

It's pretty crazy how many minutes Durant plays at his age. Props to him if he can keep it up all year and through the playoffs but this rockets team doesn't have a chance if he doesn't play over 30.

Impressive and also dumb.

Since the Beautiful Game Spurs that didn't have anyone average over 30mpg, only two championship teams have had a single player average more than 34.5mpg. Durant is at almost 37mpg. The two teams that played more minutes were LeBron Cavs and Tatum Celtics. Celtics were top heavy and LeBron is a stat ***** that also is in ridiculous shape.

I think it is a big part of why DAntoni and Thibs teams flamed out in the playoffs. Their players' legs were toast.

Last year the Knicks just didnt' have anymore in the tank against Indiana. Their top 5 players all played over 35mpg. Hali led Indiana with 33.6mpg. Bridges played 600 more minutes than Hai in the regular season.

We only have two players over 30mpg with Fox leading at 31.6.

Miami beat the Rockets

Pelicans beat the Jazz. Pelicans are now up to 6th worst. Mavs need 3 games to catch them. The 6-10 area is where the draft odds really start to drop, so every spot matters.

We need Pelicans, Blazers, Clippers, and Bucks to win. Giannis may be back this week.

Games today:

Spurs at Knicks at noon
Bucks vs Bulls - Bucks should get back on track after losing to the Knicks. Bucks are 8-3 over their last 11 without Giannis.
Wolves vs Nuggets. Just should be interesting to see these two go at it.
Blazers vs Hawks - Hawks are one game up in the lottery over the Blazers. Blazers lose their first if they make the playoffs, but I think they want to win everything they can and lose the play-in. JJ and NAW are questionable, Blazers are on a B2B, but rested the first half against Charlotte.
Pelicans vs Clippers - Think my Pellies are gonna lose this one unfortunately, but the Clippers are just 1.5 games back on the Hawks. Zion tweaked his ankle early yesterday against the Nets and didn't return. He played on it for a few plays but didn't move much before subbing himself out. Looks minor.

Goaltends are allowed by Robinson if the Knicks are down by a dozen in the 1st.

What a pathetic ticky tack call on Harper that they upgrade to an F1

Turning this off.

Even retired NBA ref Steve Javie (who ****ing hated the Spurs) said that is not a reckless closeout.

Spurs up 12 and the refs just let Robinson do moving screen after moving screen to create their offense.

Castle should be on the floor if Brunson is. Period. Fox is laying a wet turd today in both ends.

Need to keep Castle out of foul trouble for the second half.

Refs made it clear second quarter how this was going to go today.

Disappointing.

edit - as I type this, Robinson has both arms wrapped around Wemby and Wemby had to throw him off. Ref just shrugs at Wemby. This game making the old guys like Donaghy blush.

Wemby has a guy jump into him as he's dunking on them and no call.

They always kill us on the boards. They made Kornet look like a 3rd string center. Love Luke but I question his toughness for a playoff rotation.

Knicks were always a bad matchup for us, because we have to counter their physical 4/5 rotation of Robinson, KAT, OG, Diawara with Wemby, Kornet, Barnes, and Julian.

Spurs got out to a quick 12 point lead and the refs took control of the game.

3 minutes left in the 1st and Keldon drives and Robinson goaltends it after it hits the backboard. No call. Then Bridges runs the fast break and pulls up for the easy 2.

4 point swing.

Harper gets the steal and with 8s let on the shot clock, Fox pulls up from 27' for no reason.

Brunson takes it down court, Robinson sets the screen, but as Harper goes over, he moves to continue screening him and keep Harper from recovering. Blatant and egregious moving screen leads to Brunson open 3pt make.

7 points given.

Robinson bricks two FTs and OG gets the offensive rebound by pushing Wemby in the back. No call.

Refs call Harper for a flagrant foul that even Steve Javie said probably shouldn't even be a foul because it was clean defense.

Brunson turns that flagrant into a 5pt play and another foul on Harper by jumping into Harper to foul bait.

Add 5 to the ref's running total here for 12 points given in just two minutes.

Next possession another moving screen by Robinson Keldon and Brunson hits the open pull up to take the lead.

15 points in 2.5 minutes given by the refs.

Refs made it clear how this game would go.

And the refs continued to make it clear, Spurs would not benefit from pure, ethical basketball.

That's an easy foul call on OG Anunoby. Tons of contact, in the restricted circle, not set. No call.

Calls only went one way.

Only way we beat 8v5 is if Victor, Devin, Julian, and Harrison are unconscious from three. Quite the opposite today.

Just have to regroup and hope the Knicks don't make it out of the East, because Mike Brown is a much better coach than Thibs and knows better how to use his team.
