What happened to Parker? Horrible night for him

That's it. I liked what we saw from our guys tonight. This was a good loss and a good experience for nando. Green should not be a playmaker in the final minutes though.

Apparently Westbrook is going to get a foul call every time he touches the ball now.

I am not one to complain about the refs, but the Spurs are not getting any favors. That's home court cooking, though.

Shocked that they didn't call a foul on the Spurs there. Officiating has been good the last minute or so.

Brilliant play. Iso Splitter in the post. Good grief. Spurs failing to execute late way too often lately.

The Spurs made some bonehead plays but it was actually a pretty encouraging performance all things considered. I mean Parker was nowhere near himself and didn't play the 4th and no Ginobili. Team fought hard.

This was a great learning experience for De Colo. He know knows what the playoffs will actually be like.

Splitter played a horrible game and that isn't very encouraging given his previous struggles with OKC.

The Spurs desperately need to get Parker right and its looking more and more like they rushed him back too soon.

The Spurs need to stop leaving him open tbh. He probably hit one three that was actually contested. Everything else is wide fn open.

Not to mention this was 4 in 5 nights. And OKC hasn't played since February.

That being said, the Spurs are not looking good lately. I don't have much confidence in the team right now. I honestly think there is a good chance we don't even make the WCF to play the thunder.

As mentioned before this was a very tough situation the Spurs were in tonight with OKC coming off 4 full days rest and the Spurs playing 4 games in 5 nights. Factor in Tony's and Manu's injury situation and this game was actually a pretty gritty and encouraging performance. Especially considering how bad the Spurs have looked the last couple weeks. I actually thought they looked good tonight. I mean the offense is still not flowing like it should but that is mainly because of Tony and Manu being out.

I like what I saw from De Colo. Took him awhile to adjust but he played a very solid game. He made some mistakes but that is to be expected.

Neal needs to continue to give performances like these with Manu out. We need 10-15 ppg from him off the bench from here on out.

Disappointed in Splitter and Green for the most part tonight. Both players had a very meh game and that isn't very encouraging seeing as they were the two guys who really struggled in last years WCF.

Diaw is just his usually self. He doesn't do anything great but he's a guy you can trust down the stretch and no moment is too big for him.

Leonard is a beast.

Yes, Leonard is awesome. Love watching him play.

It's all health right now. If Tony is this hurt throughout the playoffs then I could see this happening. If he regains his form then nobody can matchup with SA outside of OKC. Have people forgotten what Tony was doing pre-injury? I mean he was a top 3 player in the NBA. The Spurs have to get him healthy.
TheDino

I understand that. Health is the main issue. But there isn't much time to get healthy. I wouldn't be worried if it was February. There will not be an easy matchup in the west. We need to get healthy really quick. And I'm not sure that will happen.

Love Spur fan. 10 fouls called all night on them - 2.5 per quarter - yet Russ gets all the refs love. Oui Oui is not hurt per TNT postgame show. Perhaps he is not an MVP candidate.

Oh I agree. I have been worried for awhile now. Especially with the recent news about Manu. The Spurs have had some really bad luck with injuries this season.

I would have sat Parker longer then we did. I am a lot more worried about that then who gets 1 or 2 seed. Watching tonight's game though just reminded me that the Spurs still have it. They played a hard nosed game and had some great performances from Kawhi and TD. Just showed that the Spurs need to get Tony and Manu right and this team can still make the Finals. Just have to be healthy.

And I agree. If we are all healthy a finals appearance is possible. But I just don't see the health coming around. Hope I'm wrong.

Feel bad for y'all but you stayed at the table with this group. They have a LOT of miles on them and aches and pains are to be expected
However, at their age it is just harder to recover. Really shouldn't come as a surprise and honestly it was your best and only chance. Who knows, you may recover and be a finals candidate. If not, don't blame injuries - you knew what you had with a veteran roster.

Be interesting to see how the Spurs handle Parker. Pop said something about his shin was starting to bother him tonight on top of the ankle, back and neck (lol wow).

The Spurs might want to seriously consider shutting him down for a week to let him get his body right. Having him out of rhythm and out of shape for the first round is still better than him having lingering injuries all playoffs.
TheDino

Agree completely. We won't fall to the 3 seed. If Parker isn't healthy we won't go anywhere. Rest him.

Tough news out of Denver tonight as well with Danillo Galinarri tearing his ACL. Tough blow for them.

“I saw him come across half court actually limping at one time, so that’s when we pulled him,” Popovich said. “I said ‘Tony, you’ve got to stop, so we can figure out what it is.’ He just couldn’t go.”

Heading into the game, Parker was dealing with a laundry list of bumps, including a bone bruise in his left ankle leftover from a sprain suffered March 1.

Popovich doesn’t believe what plagued Parker in OKC was necessarily that, but a previously unreported injury to his shin.

“My feeling is tendonitis, something in his shins or whatever, from the way it looked on the court, but I don’t know,” said Popovich, who described himself “very concerned” about his star guard’s health.

“We thought he had just kind of recovered from his ankle, so this was something new tonight with his leg,” Popovich said. “I just don’t know what it is right now.”

One report is stress fracture, not tendinitis.

Edited to add: Not any report from Spurs

Everything falling into place for a Spurs-Rockers matchup, which would be awesome since I'm in Houston. But I'm worried about Tony. We need him healthy to have a shot against OKC.
Sher Thing

I haven't seen anything regarding a "stress fracture". I'd be surprised if the Spurs didn't sit Tony for at least a week to get healthy. Maybe let him play 1-3 games before the playoffs start if he's feeling alright by then.

Tony Parker is basically day-to-day with his litany of injuries (neck, finger, ankle, shin, knee). None fall into the "serious" category.

When Jack retires, the Spurs need to hire him for PR and quality control. He can do the interviews in Pop's stead and beat the hell out of any Spur who doesn't make the right pass or screws up the defensive rotation.

Diaw out Wednesday with Back Spasms. Day to Day after that.

Parker questionable Wednesday vs Denver.

I'd rather them just sit Parker until the playoffs, or until the last game of the season. No need to bring him back soon. And I guess with Diaw injured Baynes might get some meaningful minutes.
Ulrich
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yeah, it's time to just sit these guys out until the last game of the season. TP and Diaw know how to play, there's no point in bringing them back early to get them in rhythm. Spend the time watching game film and getting minutes for De Colo/Joseph and Baynes/Blair.
