Titty baby. I actually like that one.

At least you kept it civil and had no need to swear and refer to phalluses

If we can get past LA, I really like our chances of going back to the WCF. Just gotta forget about this past month and start from a clean slate. Hopefully they will get some good practices in between now and Sunday.

The morning paper mentions that Jackson has been released; thought I heard this a couple of days ago, (Conflict of interest with Pops),

Jack said he felt that there was a player playing ahead of him that shouldn't have been basically. I bet he was referring to Green.

And if it was Green, maybe he had a case.

I would bet that it was Gary Neal. I think I've mentioned a couple times on this thread noticing Jackson screaming at Neal for screwups on defense and shot selection.

Green did his job every night and shot a great percentage from three. It's hard to get mad at that.

Yea maybe. But I think Neal and Jackson were really tight off of the court.

Also, Danny hasn't been shooting the ball as well of late, so maybe that was kind of the tipping point.

On the whole though, I'm not sure there is anyone who got a ton of minutes that Jackson had a real argument for; Jackson just wasn't that good this season. I think I landed on Neal as much because he irritates me sometimes as anything.

Green plays solid D, works within the offense, and shoots lights out.
Leonard is better than Jackson is just about every way; could use a post up game but that will come in time.
Neal can shoot but has issues with shot selection and plays bad defense.
Mills does not overlap with Jackson in terms of position and gets very few minutes anyway. See also: De Colo.
Ginobili... could it be Ginobili? He makes some really dumb mistakes at times and went ice cold at the end of the year, but statistically is still quite a bit better than Jack in similar minutes. Jackson apparently blew up about the time Manu was going to come back.
Dejuan Blair? Bonner?

Yea that's a good point. Jackson was struggling this year, but he was starting to shoot the ball a lot better. And he was very good at taking advantage of miss matches in the post. We're going to miss his toughness on defense more than anything I think.

I wonder how much of it is just the stress from his personal life boiling over and making every little slight seem worse. He's had a really bad run of luck this year and these are a bunch of competitive guys with only so many minutes to go around.

I'm a huge Jack fan but he's an idiot for this.

He failed the Spurs as a leader/teammate much more then he could have on the court. He was a bad influence on our younger guys and causing a rift with them because he wasn't getting playing time.

Saying that, it's not like he was getting DNPs. He was playing 20MPG and would have had MANY opportunities to prove himself in the playoffs. If he played better than the other guys, he would have played. Just like OKC last year.

Fact is he was horrible on the court this year and had no business complaining about playing time. He's lucky Pop played him as much as he did tbqh.

He's the perfect example of an athlete not willing to recognize the reality of his skills as he ages.

Neal has had good games as well as bad games in the playoffs. He's not a mental midget like Bonner, he's just not that good.

Green is the other one who went into full out softie mode last year in the WCF. As well as Tiago.

We're going to need everyone at their best this playoff.

A few years ago when we'd have Bonner and Roger Mason on the court at the same time, that was the worst. Two smallest sets of balls possible.

Damn, watching JR Smith play this year really makes me sad that Brent Barry trade fell through at the last minute. Who knows if we could have kept him around, but he really would have helped the following year against LA in the WCF when we couldn't put the ball in the bucket.

Neal is too dumb to feel pressure. He's just streaky.

Apparently Duncan has been gushing about T-Mac's current basketball shape in practice with the media. I'm very interested in watching the game today, largely in-part to see if he plays or not.

FWIW I found out that it was Green that Jackson was talking about.

Well Green has been better than Jackson this year so I'm not sure the complaint. If McGrady can give us anything it would be nice. Could use his scoring in those inevitable moments where we go on a 6 minutes scoreless streak. In McGradys credit he's never really been a part of a great team.

You people actually think tmac will see the floor, and could potentially contribute?

Holy crap

I wonder why T-Mac hasn't gotten any minutes yet? We could of used his scoring ability during the 1st half of the 3rd qtr.

He needs to play some at somepoint

They are going to have to sit Mills, De Colo or Baynes for him to play. Probably De Colo/Mills as they more than likely want six extra fouls to use against the LA bigs. Also, when Diaw comes back there will be an extra player that needs to be sat. I think the likelihood of McGrady playing is pretty low. Could be wrong though.

Good call. I don't understand why Jackson thinks he should get any of Green's minutes because Green is better and plays a different role anyway, but good call.
