To me, the best the Rockets can realistically do at this point is to bring back Parsons and give up the chase for any kind of big name free agents. Keep your team from last year together and hope they can make a run at a top 4 seed.

The worst that can happen is they lose Parsons, don't bring in Bosh, and are still stuck with a couple terrible contracts on role players. That will probably be good enough to challenge Phoenix and Memphis for the 8th seed.

I think they overplayed their hand and should have kept Parsons at his crappy salary. At minimum, they would have gotten Parson's best effort all year while he was playing for his payday contract. Even if they bring him back, he's got no incentive to go balls to the wall anymore.

They can give Bosh max w/o Lin and Asik.

Parsons can match with Bird rights and won't count against the cap.

Depends who else they had with them. That big three is worse than James+Wade+Bosh, who couldn't win without considerable help from their role players and had an easier road to the Finals every year.

If we can make this happen we will have the best team in the west.

One concern of mine is that we aren't addressing our main 2 weaknesses of defense and the PG position.

Depends who Houston loses in the process.

If Houston loses Asik/Lin/Parsons/Jones to get Bosh, I don't think Houston in any better than they were last year and certainly aren't better than OKC, San Antonio, LAC and probably the Blazers.
