We aren't contenders with Deng in place of Parsons either. Parsons + Ariza would be better than just Deng.

Parsons for $950,000 sounds like a pretty good idea right about now. This Morey guy is just awful.

That contract makes Bosh the highest paid player in the NBA, or damn close to it...this is the 2nd time the Rockets have gone after Bosh and gotten sand. I don't think anyone saw 23.6MM per year coming. Drink some Red Bull, Morey...no sleep til Brooklyn, erm, Monday.
Heard Bosh signing with Heat makes it less likely that the Rockets match the Mavs offer Parsons. They want that cap room.

That's two years away. Are we just supposed to concede the next two years in the hopes that KD actually leaves OKC? Plus Parsons has a player option, so if he loves Houston that much, he can decline it and resign after getting KD.
I still don't think we match Parsons unless we think we can win the title this year.

Why do people keep bringing up Parson's salary on his rookie deal? He'd be UFA next year meaning he could go anywhere and the Rockets would get back nothing. Now that could still happen this weekend but they can now go after some second tier FAs and then match Parsons later this weekend.

I would have been hoping that would fall through if I were a true Rockets fan. As a casual Rockets fan (though declining over recent years as they get farther and farther from the hard work and low profile concept personified by Chuck Hayes and Shane Battier), I'm largely ambivalent to the outcome except insofar as it affects my Spurs chance at repeating. As I've insinuated a couple times, I'm actually more worried about a Harden/Howard/Deng trio with a solid supporting cast in year two than I was about a four man team.
As for the list, I was just trying to demonstrate the difficulty of hitting several consecutive events even if each one has a fairly high probability.
Well at least the rockets will be really good in 2015?!
