RE: Tim vs. Bosh, it kind of depends on whether 2012-2014 Bosh is the real Bosh now or if he still has a lot more to offer (like in previous seasons) that the Heat just weren't using. EDIT: Duncan may well play defensive C in that matchup, so there will be a crossmatch with Tiago/Diaw on Bosh. The Spurs screw with their lineups and positions too much for this to be a simple comparison.
With Bosh and Parsons Houston is equipped to give anyone a fight, but like last year when Harden+Howard supposedly equaled a title they still have a lot to prove before you can call them better than the Spurs.
Unless the Rockets go way, way into the tax the Spurs bench will be immensely better, the Spurs still have an advantage at two starting positions, a draw at a third, have a lot of guys to throw at Howard, still play much better defense, have a much better coach, truckloads of championship/deep playoff experience, and play the best team ball in the league.
As a Spurs fan, I'm wondering if Bosh to the Rockets influences the Spurs to make a stronger play for Gasol or McRoberts and lock up Bonner and Baynes where they might have let one go before. Bonner pisses Howard off and Baynes can wear him down for a few minutes at a time, which will be important if we're going to have Tiago chasing Bosh around. I doubt that anything anyone does is a major factor in the Spurs decision making, but I'll be a little more comfortable with more bigs to throw at Bosh/Howard, Ibaka/Perkins/Adams/McGary, and Gasol/Randolph. I'll probably repost/expand on this in the Spurs thread.
