Spurs fans are spending their time on Rockets threads, even when they're in the Finals.

Because its so hard to make a couple extra clicks of a mouse to get to a Rockets thread. How am I doing this during the Finals? Shouldn't I be getting ready for game 2!? Hopefully I don't miss practice today because I'm on texags talking about basketball!!!

When your team is in the Finals, it's hard to think about anything but basketball and there are only a couple threads going.

Like they say:

if there is no grass on the field, play in the mud.

Parsons is better than ibaka and Leonard, but it's close because of durant.

Still stand by this, Maggie?

Now, time for the Rockets to sign Melo.

Breaking offseason news:

Chandler and Johnny are both tapping Crowley sisters. That's lovely.

Robyn was one of my brother's good friends in high school. Known her for quite a few years. She is very good people. Do not know the other sister though.

Lionel Hollins would be a HUGE pick up defensively. Hopefully he can bring some "Grit-N-Grind" to Houston.

Getting Hollins would be a home run
Ulrich

Hollins would be a home run, but he's too good a coach to settle for a job as an assistant, especially to McHale. Rockets ought to can McHale for Hollins.

@RedNinetyFour: Multiple reporters have now stated that Houston thinks they have a chance, and will pursue, Lebron James, if available.

Lol. I'd guess they have as much a shot as the Spurs do of landing him. Unless he's willing to accept a huge pay cut then I don't think the Rockets can afford him.

Rockets need to move Lin/Asik. Even then, they are right at the cap before anything happens with Parsons.

So assuming they could get rid of Lin/Asik and take back zero dollars, they are fine for about 15mm if they renounce Parsons or S&T Parsons for Bron.

Couldn't the Spurs offload Parker's contract let Bonner walk and be at the same 15 million.

Or they ask Duncan to lower his contract from 10 to 5 million, don't re-sign diaw (just under 5 million) and use bonner's money (just under $4 million) plus the salary cap increase to get to 15 million plus.

The spurs actually have tradeable assets and room if they want it. I love Parker and I don't think the Spurs should blow up a championship team, but that is a heck of a lot more of a realistic scenario than the rockets pipe dream of finding someone to eat all of Lin and Asik's salaries.

Yes, but where would Lebron rather go? An aging team or a team with 2 other stars?

Maybe he'd like a team with a coach. Just saying.

Kevin McHale and Lionel Hollins

A team of winners that already knows how to pass and play defense or one with James Harden and coached by Kevin McHale.

Where would Lebron rather go, a title team or first round fodder?

Spurs starters:
Leonard 23
Parker 32
Green 27
Splitter 29
Duncan 38

Duncan and Manu are old. The Spurs are not old.

Since 99% of the rockets fans on this board want McHale gone if say it's safe to assume that's something Lebron thinks about as well.

Rockets were 23rd in defense and 18th in assists.

Spurs were 6th in defense and 1st in assists.

Where does LeBron fit in better?

Spurs fans thinking LeBron wants to go to San Antonio
Guitarsoup

Yeah, why would the player that has publicly stated he wants to win 7 rings and has moved before to team up with the best team in the NBA want to move again to the best team in the NBA? Completely idiotic to think it is a possibility that LeBron would want to join the best team in the NBA so he has a chance at winning more rings than Jordan.

I don't think he will go to the Spurs, but it is an infinite better situation than Houston, where he also won't sign.

If Lebron wanted to play in Mexico, he could go down to Mexico to play and score 80 PPG. Tons of places there that are nicer than San Antone also.
GatorAg03

Nobody is honestly thinking Lebron is going to come to San Antonio or Houston. What we are saying is San Antonio could offer him similar money and free up the space to do so much easier than the rockets.

I think I would put my future title hopes on Pop, Leonard, Duncan and Manu and Buford building around that over McHale, Howard, Harden and Morey building around that.

Both are extreme longshots though.
mAgnoliAg

Y'all would have to get rid of Parker or someone to free up space. We wouldn't have to get rid of our top 2. You could lose Duncan Ginobli and Parker. Yeah that's definitely not happening. Rockets are more likely, but I still think it's laughable to think either will get him.
Guitarsoup

Spurs have 10-12mm in cap space without resigning Mills or Diaw.

Duncan can opt out of his 10mm contract and take less if he wants to and I would bet you that if the Spurs had a legit chance of signing LeBron, he would.

Say Duncan took the vet min for a year, Spurs sign LeBron to 15mm, leaving 4mm over for either Diaw or Patty and let the other walk (sorry Patty!)

Spurs keep everyone together except Patty and sign LeBron.

That seems infinitely easier than convincing another team to pay Jeremy Lin max-level money. Lin will get paid more than Harden next year.

And the Spurs could still give Duncan a max deal for one year next year to make up. Or maybe give him a discounted rate on buying a percentage of the Spurs (like Robinson got.)
