Anyone see this?

http://dimemag.com/2014/09/rumor-rockets-let-parsons-contract-honor-dwight-howard-agent-deal/

Summary:

The same agent represents Parsons and Howard. The agent wanted Howard in Dallas because he's buddy buddy with Cuban however Howard didn't want to play there. So he got the Rockets to agree to not pick up the option on Parsons if Howard signed in Houston. Then he possibly tipped off Cuban by letting him know Parsons would be available.

Sports agents are scum. It doesn't surprise me that he's buddy buddy with Dallas people. Dallas is the perfect place for people like that.

Wolves are willing to give Bledsoe a max if they can work out a S&T.

A wide-ranging article on the Parsons signing and the Houston/Dallas rivalry from Marc Stein:

To be perfectly honest, I would have accepted a lot less money early in the process to stay in Houston. But they told me they wanted to wait for the whole LeBron and Melo situation [to play out], which I understood.

The Rockets, Parsons recounts, informed him they planned to match any offer he got, even if they did go ahead and allow him to become a restricted free agent.Sources say Parsons' camp was hoping to secure a four-year, $48 million deal before it even got that far.

Surely the Rox weren't expecting Cuban to pay him THAT much

It said in the article that the Rockets offered him a 2y/30mm contract. Basically the same as the Cuban contract, but without the option for a third year.

Well apparently Parsons is out of shape, at least as far as Carlisle is concerned.
