Because it's clearly a real phenomenon? As evidence of this report and the myriad stories like it. SOMETHING is in our air space, on a daily basis, and we don't know what it is. That should be concerning to everyone. That doesn't mean it's automatically a threat, of course, but it's still super weird that so many of you are like, "Eh, whatever, lame." Just because "aliens" or whatever.

so if this really is aliens or humans from the future that are bending space and time or whatever, why do you automatically think the u.s. government is the gatekeeper for this?

some things or beings can completely defy the rules of physics and the universe as we know them but can't get past government red tape? the only way to know the truth is to give the government more money as if they need it?

why is the default to blindly give the government more money?

Because our government has the best resources available to handle things like this, built off of our backs and years of $$$ and technological development. What other route would you like this to go, have someone like Musk decide overnight that he wants to spearhead a private investigation?

how so? i'm definitely open to having my mind changed here and will admit to not following this nearly as closely as most on this thread. i can admit to my ignorance on the subject.

i mean roswell goes back to the 40s right? i guess i just don't understand the excitement around a nothing burger report after all this build up and will admit that my inner skeptic comes out when people talk about throwing more money at the government. i can't even imagine what the dollar figure will be for something like this.

On the surface I agree with you. However, it's not like the senate has ever told anyone "no, we're not funding that." The system is set up such that the feds already have the money and we get no say in how it's spent.

Difference is that this is the first time the military has ever confirmed something like those grainy gunsight films are real. They admitted that something strange is going on in our airspace they can't currently explain.

Deeply classified human technology is my guess. How would the navy or Air Force necessarily know about underground off the record technology they have never been exposed to?

At one point our military would have considered hot air balloons mind blowing UFO's. Then helicopters and air planes. Assuming they were secretly developed underground for military purposes.

Looking at the report: dozens of unexplained craft breaking the known laws of gravity, and of physics. So something noteworthy is happening, even as lack of alien stuff allows for report to cycle out of public consciousness quickly. In summary, this is a step of disclosure - of technology, spirituality, the truly unknown, or alien life.
