Yeah, I... really didn't like certain aspects of this episode.
- I like that Zemo is becoming more like comics Zemo but it seemed like a sudden 90-degree turn. He went from "ex-military whose family was crushed to death outside the city" to "rich-ass baron who had been hunting Hyda agents and dealing with the criminal underworld" in less than 30 minutes.
- Lots of rushed dialogue. I hate when shows do the "LOL why would I help you?" "because __" "...ok fine let's move." It doesn't let the scene breathe at all. Sharon shows up, scolds the protagonists, then decides to risk everything and help them immediately.
- Sharon Carter is a badass in the comics so I'm glad she got be one here. I'd heard once that COVID reshoots may have affected how much she's in this show, so hopefully she gets to come back and play an important role. Still not really sure what that art collection bit was about - I was getting whiplash from all the sudden turns. I guess she wasn't snapped so she integrated herself into the criminal underworld to survive for 5-7 years?
- Less quippy episode which was good. Episode 2 was a bit non-stop with it.
- Not in this one much but I'm still engaged with the John Walker arc. I'm glad. Wyatt is a better actor than I'd given him credit for.
- Almost laughed out loud at that scientist saying "I was a god." I mean I'm a pretty huge nerd but STFU loser
- Lastly, an example of why I hate hearing the showrunners say certain things. They'd said in an interview that Marvel gave them free reign with the action, and there was something they got approval for in episode 3 that made them go "whoa, really?" All episode I was expecting some big action sequence but I guess it was just Sharon vs. goons.
