The issue to me is that the supers aren't necessarily any "twitchier" than your average athlete. Meaning while they may be stronger, they aren't actually moving their legs that much faster than a professional football player. So the way they would actually run is that the power in each stride would carry them much longer distances than the normal athlete. So while Usain bolt might cover 3-4 feet between each step*, they would be covering 6-8 feet between each step. More bounding between each leap than running. And it's just hard to make that look realistic.
*completely made that distance up for the purpose of the example, so don't jump down my throat if that number is off.

I kind of expect the Power Broker to get a reveal as a villain worthy of everyone's attention sometime in the final two episodes. Maybe even somehow working with Hill Country Fare Cap to track down (and kill?) the rest of the Flag Smashers.
But, yeah, it's weird how the Broker kind of got tossed aside so quickly by Sam and Buck, but I guess it's only been like a couple days real-time and the Flag Smashers did just bomb a building, so they do deserve some extra attention.

Evidently. Unless you're exposed to Gamma radiation at the same time.Shai-Hulud said:The Super Solider Serum causes rare blood clots in women???MooreTrucker said:

I disagree to an extent. I watched Wandavision with my wife, who had see some but not nearly all of the MCU movies. She knew who the characters were but that's about it. Definitely not the full interconnections, etc.
She really liked the first couple of episodes for the Dick Van Dyke and Brady Bunch type aspects but didn't get anything out of the Cat Dennings/Jimmy Woo/Monica stuff at all. And she'd checked out by the time we found out about Agatha, and wouldn't have understood it anyway.

I kinda think Power Broker will be revealed but left out there for a future series.
Maybe Thunderbolts? What if they have Walker, new Black Widow, Taskmaster, Zemo, and maybe one or two others? Maybe a clandestine squad doing unofficial missions for the government or UN, such as taking out the biggest criminal syndicate in Madripoor?
Just a thought.

Old Man Steve would be awesome. I could see him trying to talk Walker down, but no way that works unless maybe he shows up in the middle of the fight to talk Walker down from killing Sam or Bucky. That fight has to happen.Fat Bib Fortuna said:
I like this show infinitely more than I liked Wandavision, which at the end of the day, was just an elaborate magic trick. I liked lots of it, and I love Randall Park, but I think most of my desire to watch it came from the fact that there was finally some new content.
Finally go to watch the episode last night. A few thoughts after reading the last few pages of discussion.
1. The guy who plays Battlestar: First I was really impressed with his character when he sides with Sam/Buck to talk to Karli instead of arresting her. But the scene where he and Walker are talking bout Afghanistan and the super soldier serum, that seemed like bad acting to me, and take that with the caveat that I very rarely notice a bad performance. Just not something my brain does well, but he definitely looked like he was just "saying the lines" while Walker was acting.
2. Battlestar's death: I think everyone in that fight was trying to disarm everyone else up to that point. Even with the knives, it wasn't like they were trying to stab someone through the neck or in the heart, so seeing a guy's neck snap shocked the hell out of everyone.
3. I loved Sam using his skills as a counselor to talk to Karli. Really hearkens back to that first scene when Cap goes to visit him at his job in WS.
4. Loved the Dora Milaje showing up and beating the **** out of Walker. Especially when he couldn't get the shield off the table.
5. Glad they showed the blood when Walker killed that guy at the end of the episode. Although I also think that cinched the deal that nobody is going to use the shield after the season. That shield has now been used to murder a guy in cold blood. Walker's actions have tainted it, and with everyone recording it, the whole world sees that shield and thinks murder.
6. I love how inventive they are with Sam's fighting ability with the wings and the jet pack in a closed environment. That's been some of the coolest parts of the show for me.
7. I like Karli as the leader, but I also liked her in Solo. You don't have to be the biggest or the strongest to lead people, especially if by leading all you're really doing is helping them and inspiring them to help others.
8. I'm sure there will be lots of Sam & Bucky vs. Walker fighting at some point, but wouldn't it be great if either Sam or Sharon got Walker to stand down by having Old Man Rogers show up and tell him he's destroying the image of Captain America? Shame him into standing down?

The question I have is how is no one going to use the shield after this season. They're either going to have to completely destroy it, or Sam is going to have to hide it somewhere where no one can find it.Fat Bib Fortuna said:

The issue here is that the trailers already show Sam practicing using the shield with Bucky and since we haven't seen that scene yet, it means that Sam eventually does get the shield and use it. Also, in the comics, Walker kills with the shield as well yet the shield is never "retired".Fat Bib Fortuna said:

In the comics the villain kills Walker's parents and that is what sets him off. Obviously they changed the incident to Battle Star's death. But I do worry about his wife as a target in the future to further send him down a trail deeper into the dark side. Maybe not as this is all we need really to see this character devolve as he has. I propose that he ends up separating from the title of Captain America and goes forward from the show to redeem himself later on in the MCU as US Agent. Redemption is a big theme in Marvel.redline248 said:
Oh yeah, I wonder if we get a scene with Walker and his wife/girlfriend dealing with the fallout.

This is what's strange to me: I liked her in Solo but it's not working for me in this. And I readily acknowledge from the first time I saw her in this how similar the roles were.
I like the idea of her because, you're right, you don't need to be the biggest or strongest to lead people. But they haven't really shown her effectively lead anyone yet or why anyone is following her (unless I missed it which is likely the case). Like, why her? I'm totally cool with her being the leader, but I'm not sold or really understand how she became the leader.
I probably missed something though, so any help?
Meanwhile, Peter Sciretta took to the /Film podcast to tease "a big actor who hasn't been named in the series ... someone we didn't know is going to be in the series and is an award-winning actor/actress" playing an "exciting Marvel Comics character" in this week's fifth episode.Quote:
Have I ever met Chris Evans? I think I have. I don't think I've 'shook his hand' met him, but I think I've walked by him somewhere and made eye contact. That counts as being a stalker, that doesn't count as meeting anybody. But, I guess it would. You just gotta wait until the end of the series and then everybody will be like, 'Oh, wow.'
It wouldn't be the first marvel property to have "fake" trailer footage.Capitol Ag said:The issue here is that the trailers already show Sam practicing using the shield with Bucky and since we haven't seen that scene yet, it means that Sam eventually does get the shield and use it. Cap has too big of a legacy to have one incident with a bad choice as a replacement to make the public associate the shield only with Walker and his deeds.
